A Mountain road on the outskirts of Denver “Miles!!!” Amanda screamed when their car hit the guard rail, and tumbled over the side of the hill speeding downward, to the lake below. Miles hit his head and was instantly knocked unconscious, before the windshield exploded sending shards of glass towards them. Miles woke up minutes later, as the cold water that was rushing into the car startled him from unconsciousness. “Oh, shit.” He shook his head trying to revive himself. He looked over at Amanda’s lifeless body, and instantly sprang into action. “Amanda honey, wake up, we have to get out of the car, its sinking.” He pulled off his seatbelt, opening his door, before the water caused a vacuum effect, making it impossible to open the door. He turned his attention back to Amanda as the water poured in. Ignoring the pain racing through his chest, he tried desperately to help Amanda. “Amanda.” He yelled as the car began to go down. He pulled on her seatbelt, but it wouldn’t give, it was jammed. He began to panic, and the water was almost waist deep in the car. He gave two more futile tugs and then he remembered his pocket knife, and began cutting the shoulder strap trying not to cut Amanda in the process. “Almost threw.” He said.
When they were finally safely on the shore, Miles took a glance over his shoulder as the car took its final plunge. “Wow, that was close.” He then turned his attention back to an Amanda. Her eyes flutter awake. “Hey baby take it easy, we’re all right.” “Thank you.” Was all Amanda could say, before the shock of what she was seeing hit her. “Oh, no… Miles, are you all right?” “I’m fine.” He said not understanding what she was looking at, and as he looked down and his chest he immediately knew what Amanda meant. A large shard of glass form the broken windshield was sticking out of his chest, blood pouring down his wet shirt. His face became pale all at once. Miles looked up shocked, before passing out in Amanda’s arms “Miles? Oh my god, Miles!!!” she yelled. Jim’s Apartment “Stop it, please, Danny!” Ashley screamed as Danny hit LB again. She jumped from the bed, covered her naked body with the sheet and ran to LB. The boy lay on the floor, his nose bleeding. “Are you okay?” She asked him, worried and helping him stand up. When they both rose up they came face to face with Danny for the first time, with the truth. “I knew there was something going on here… I just never imagine my best friend; my own cousin would do something like this to me!” He said, looking at LB who began getting dressed. “We didn’t want you to find out this way, Danny.” LB said. “And we didn’t plan this. It just happened. I’m sorry.” tears came into Ashley’s eyes. “I bet you’re sorry, sorry for getting caught!” Danny was still very much upset.
“Listen – “She tried, but he cut her words. “No, you listen!” He yelled. “I loved you, Ashley. I loved you so much and you lied to me! How could you betraying me like that? How could you!?” “Danny, please calm down.” LB tried.
“Don’t tell me to clam down, you bastard! I trusted you. You knew how much I love her. I told you everything and thought you understood. But you laughed at me the whole time, knowing what a fool I was. I bet you two laughed the whole time behind my back, didn’t you?!” “No, no. We never laughed at you, Danny. I loved you. I still love you. I really do.” Ashley tried.
“Oh give me a brake, at least stop the lies now!” “Danny, it’s the truth, at least give us the chance to explain’ LB tried but Danny cut off him too. “You must think I’m stupid, hmm? What can you possibly explain? That you accidentally fall on the bed and Ashley was just there, waiting to sleep with you?!” he yelled. “Danny, please. Let’s talk like adults, okay?” She came closer to him and reached her hand to him, but he pushed her away. “I don’t want to talk with you never again, neither of you!” He yelled again and stormed out, leaving the two of them alone. Alexis’s penthouse
Alexis was still in a state of shock as she entered her penthouse. All way home she had driven like mad, only wanting to get away. Her stomach was sick because of what she had just gone through. She took off her coat and tossed it to the floor, making her way over to the bar; where she poured herself a drink and emptied the glass in one go. Alexis was at a loss, feeling a mixture of guilt and fear. She never intended for anything like that to happen. ”Oh God, what I’m supposed to do now?” She muttered to herself. What Caress had done weighed heavily on her mind. She had KILLED Zach. Alexis put the glass down and stepped away from the bar. Emotionally exhausted she collapsed onto the couch, leaning back into the stuffed cushion. She closed her eyes, welcoming the darkness. If she lay there for a while maybe this nightmare would go away. But she knew better, and the longer she thought about it the more worried she felt. Zach’s death probably wasn’t the end of Caress’s revenge plans. Why hadn’t her sister shot her too, when she had the chance? What was Caress up to? One terrifying question kept coming to her mind over and over again - what if Caress tried to lay the blame for the killing of Zach on her. Caress had promised she would experience the same hell she went through in Venezuela. Alexis wondered how serious she should take Caress’s threats. Did her sister have something on her hands to shift the blame to her? Alexis couldn’t think of anything; the apartment, the gun, the fingerprints - all the evidence pointed clearly to Caress. What was going to happen next? Alexis didn’t even want to ask herself that question. It scared her. A million thoughts raced through her mind, and all ended in one - she needed to protect herself. After a few minutes of consideration she picked up the phone and started dialing, but at the last minute she put the phone back down. She couldn’t do it. She couldn’t turn in her sister to the police. Zach Powers were dead and there was nothing she could do to change it. Even Caress’s arrest wasn’t going to bring him back to life. Besides, Caress still had the tape with Zach’s confession. If the truth about Chávez’s death would be revealed, it was quite possible that her children would turn against her and she could lose them. Alexis couldn't let that happen. It seemed like all she could do now was wait, wait for Caress’s next step. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was waiting for a time bomb to go off. Paris, France - Monica Colby’s Apartment
Dex was stunned to find Sable standing in front of him, awake. “Darling, where have you been?” Sable asked rushing into his arms. A stunned Dex could only hug her back. “I’ve been in Denver.” “I know that silly, but you and I have so much we’ve got to do.” “Do?” “To plan for the wedding of course” Sable smiled.
“Wedding?” He asked, confused.
Monica had had enough, she interrupted this love reunion. “Mother, I’m sure you and Dex have a lot of plans to attend to, but you know you need your rest, and I’m sure Dex is exhausted as well.” Dex started to say something, but Monica hushed him, she took her mother by the arm, and led her away. “Dex stay here, I’ll be out in a moment.” Monica said and came back after two minutes. “I told you not to come in, I warned you.” “Monica, I have a right!” “Right, you have not rights when it comes to my mother.” “What the hell is going one here?” “Mother has been awake for weeks now, she recovering form her injuries, but she doesn’t remember anything from just prior to the accident, she doesn’t remember how you betrayed her, how you slept with another woman, she thinks you two are still going to be married.” “What?” “Dex, I want you to go now, go check into the hotel, get some rest, and then come back in the morning, but for now you can not tell mother anything, the doctors said that she blocking out something’s that she can’t deal with.” “Wait a minute. You are going to fast…” “Dex, just do as I say. I may not like it, but you are here now, and we have to deal with this situation.” She took Dex by the arm and led him to the door. “Come over in the morning we will talk then.” She shut the door leaving Dex more confused then when he came in. Las Vegas – The honeymoon suite at the Sheraton Hotel “Wow!” Krystina called out when Kyle carried her as they entered the honeymoon suite at the Sheraton Hotel. She didn’t expect all this. Red roses were all over, together with lighted candles that gave the place a romantic spirit. “Do you like it?” Kyle asked when he put her down. “Are you kidding? It’s so beautiful, I can’t believe it. When did you find the time to do all that?” “Well, I kind of rented this place before I proposed to you.” “Oh, really I see you were pretty confident that I wouldn’t say no, hmm?” She asked smiling. “What was your plan if I had said no?” “Well, that wasn’t an option.” He answered and kissed her. “I knew you’d say yes. I trust our love.” He kissed her again. “I do love you, Kyle. I really do.” She kissed him back and then stopped.
“What? Is something wrong?” He wondered. “No, it just that… I’m thinking about my parents, how they’ll react when they find out that we got married?” “Hey,” he held her face. “Your parents love you, and I’m sure they’ll be very happy for you.” He encouraged her. “I hope you right.” “You’ll see. Now stop bothering you’re pretty head with this, and focus on us.” He looked into her eyes and kissed her softly on the lips. “I love you Mrs. Kyle Roberts I love you so much…” The passion controlled him. “I love you too, Mr. Roberts.” She smiled back and kissed him. He carried her to the bed and to the sound of the music from the radio they began making love. “And now to special breaking news - “, The music was cut off by the broadcaster. Kyle sent his hand to the radio and turned it off, then focused back on Krystina and in their first act of love as a married couple. Denver Memorial Hospital “According to the reports we are getting from Denver, a big fire is raging right now at the mountain resort know as the La Mirage hotel. The fire department is already there, doing their best to stop the blaze. Our reporter Joan Lee informing us that apparently the fire began in the private dining room known as the Colorado Lounge, where the well known business man Blake Carrington had dinner with his wife and a third person, whose identity is still unknown. Police are checking now if there is any connection between this fire and the shooting attack last year in the Convention Center in Denver where ten people had been killed.” “Damn them!” Fallon turned off the radio in the waiting room and turned to Jeff. They had been waiting there for almost an hour now, praying Blake, Krystle and the others were safe and sound. “We should have listened to daddy. He knew it wasn’t over. He knew they wouldn’t leave us alone ‘till they had killed us all.” She was pretty tense and upset. “What I can’t understand is why Krystle contacted this woman in the first place? What she was thinking?” “Come on, honey. It’s not Krystle’s fault. And we still can’t be sure this woman had any connection to the consortium.” “Oh Jeff, of course she has! She’s Woo’s wife!” Fallon’s voice rose as LB and Ashley stormed in. “Mom” He called as he saw her. “Hi, honey!” Fallon greeted him taking her first born into her arms. “We heard it on the radio.” Ashley explained to Jeff who looked at them both, wondering who let them know about the fire. They didn’t want to call anybody yet, not until they’d know for sure how Blake, Krystle, Sammy Jo and Steven were doing. They didn’t want to worry the others. “What happened?” LB asked his parents. “We are not sure yet, but it seems like a woman tried to kill Krystle and Blake. The police suspect this woman is connected somehow to the consortium.” Jeff said. “Do you have any idea why Jim was there?” Ashley wondered. “Well, apparently he suspected this woman had something to do with the consortium, so he called Steven and Sammy Jo. They all drove to the hotel when they realized Blake and Krystle were there with this woman.” “So Sammy Jo and Steven got hurt too?” LB was surprised. “We are not sure yet, but we heard that Jim tried to stop this woman before she sit the fire.” Jeff said. “Oh, no… Jim…” Ashley cried.
“I’m sure he will be fine, Ash. He’s strong” LB tried to comfort her and hugged her. She let herself falling apart in his arms and cried. Fallon and Jeff looked at them both, and then exchanged looks, wondering about the closeness between their son and Ashley, when the door to the waiting room opened and Danny entered seeing LB and Ashley in each others arms. “Danny!” Fallon called surprised.
They didn’t expect to see him there. They thought he was on the way back to Princeton and didn’t want to tell him anything about the fire until they knew how Sammy Jo and Steven were doing. LB and Ashley left each other when they realized Danny was there too. They looked at him, saying nothing. He looked at them back with anger and hurt in his eyes. Fallon and Jeff felt the tension in the air, even though they were unaware of the drama that had happened earlier that evening, at Jim’s apartment. “Where are my parents?” he turned his back to Ashley and LB and asked Fallon. ![]() She looked at Jeff who looked at her back. They both were confused. Denver Memorial Hospital - emergency room-B
Steven frowned as the doctor continued. “You are not going anywhere Mr. Carrington. You inhaled a large amount of smoke. You need rest. I will release you as soon as your test results confirm that no other harm was done to your lungs. You will still have to rest for a few days before you get your full strength back.” “Doctor, I’m fine!” Steven stated, he attempting to get up again. The doctor stopped him. “I’ll chain you to the bed if I have too!” Sammy Jo lying in the bed next to him started to laugh. Steven laid back and sulked. “Now, Ms. Reese, I have talked to your OBG and she requested you come for a check up tomorrow. Thankfully, your body reacted to the smoke in order to protect your unborn child and you fainted and didn’t inhale as much smoke as the others. You’re fine but due to your age and what you’ve been through you need to take it easy in the next few months.” The doctor turned and looked at Sammy Jo. “I know, I will,” Sammy Jo smiled noticing the concerned look on Steven face. “Doctor, do you know how my father is?” Steven asked. “And the rest of the people that came in with us?” Sammy Jo added. “Well from what I know, Mrs. Carrington is fine. Your father is in ICU currently in critical condition.” The doctor began as Steven grabbed Sammy Jo’s hand and squeezed it. “He inhaled a lot of smoke after his stroke, and he’s not getting any younger. Dr. Martinez is in surgery, he is suffering from severe burns and smoke inhaling, and we won’t know his condition for a while.” The doctor added. “Oh, Jim” Sammy Jo cried. Steven squeezed her hand tighter when Danny barged in. “Mom, dad, are you alright?” “Well, I’ll leave you two to rest and I’ll check on you two later. Make sure they rest.” The doctor said to Danny and exited the room. “Thank god you’re both are alright.” Danny sat down. “Danny, sweetheart, what are you doing here?” Sammy Jo asked.
“Yeah champ, shouldn’t you be on a plane to Princeton?” Steven added in a worried tone. “I heard about the fire and rushed right over. So what happened?” Danny explained. Sammy Jo looked at Danny, not believing him. She turned to look at Steven whose facial expression seems to agree with hers. “Honey, your father and I are fine. We just need to rest. Why don't you come back later? Go be with Ashley, Jim has been hurt badly, she'll need your support.” Sammy Jo watched her son's concerned face turn into an angry one. “Danny, what's the matter?” Steven asked trying to keep his eyes open. “She doesn't need me; she can lean on her new boyfriend LB.” Danny retorted. Sammy Jo and Steven looked at each other worried; their worst fear came true. “Oh, Danny” Sammy Jo pulled her son into a warm embrace. Danny hugged her tightly as the tears began to drop. “I found them in bed together at Jim apartment” Danny said when he finally stood up again. “Gee, that sounds familiar” Sammy Jo whispered to Steven. Steven smiled wearily. Danny ignored them and continued. “How could they do this to me? How?” he asked himself, looking at Sammy Jo and Steven. But they were already sleeping with the effect of the pills they got… Denver Memorial Hospital- emergency waiting area Miles and Amanda had finally made it to the emergency room of Denver Memorial Hospital. Amanda relayed the information to the admittance room, and walked over to a seat, as they rushed Miles away. She took her breath slowly, waiting for her turn as the drivers of the ambulance that had finally gotten to them said that she needed a few stitches, and she would be okay. But Miles was another story. She thought about the minutes after he rescued her. It took her almost an hour to climb back to the road, and even longer to flag down someone in a car. The ambulance arrived almost three hours after the accident, and Miles was freezing being exposed to the elements, Hypothermia setting in.
“Oh Miles you have to be okay, I can’t loose you now.” Amanda looked up and noticed Jeff walking with a coffee cup in his hand. “Jeff!” She called, getting his attention. Jeff was startled looking puzzled finding his sister in law here. He was still upset with her for lying to Dex, but after everything that had happened during the past eight hours he over looked it. “Amanda?”
“I didn’t call anyone, how did you hear about the accident?” Amanda asked. “I was there.” Jeff said. “What?” “La Mirage, Fallon and I were there.” Jeff motioned towards Fallon, and he and Amanda walked over to her. “I don’t understand… What’s going on?” Amanda said as they walked over to wear Fallon was sitting. Fallon looked up. “What happened to you?” “I’m so confused…” She ran her fingers through her hair, and that’s when Jeff and Fallon noticed the blood on the side of her face, and the tattered way her cloths hung on her. “Amanda sit down, you look like you were in an accident.” Jeff and Fallon helped her sit. “I was. Miles and I were driving, trying to get away from here, when we were hit from behind, and rolled over the side of the mountain.” Fallon looked shocked. “Where is Miles?” “He was badly hurt on impact, the windshield exploded, and a piece hit him in the chest, I was knocked unconscious, and as he was helping me he never noticed his own injury.” She began to cry. “Because of me he kept driving it further and further into his chest.” She cried and Jeff put his hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her, looking at Fallon who looked at him back, saying nothing. Alexis’s penthouse – Next morning
Alexis hadn't had a good night's sleep. She stood at the window in her bedroom, lost in thoughts. What happened the night before seemed almost surreal to her. But she knew it was all reality. A maid carried the tray with her untouched breakfast away as Alexis’s Chinese servant entered the bedroom. “Good morning, mam. Two police detectives are waiting downstairs. They say it’s urgent that they talk to you.” He informed her in his gentle manner. Alexis startled. She didn’t expect the police to show up so soon, and for a moment she considered twice if it had been a wise decision not to turn in her sister to the police last night. “Thank you, Lin. Tell the detectives I’ll be with them in a minute.” She replied, turning away from the window. He nodded politely and left. Alexis looked at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath, trying to fight down her nervousness. She just needed to act as if nothing had happened. Whatever Caress had told them, she would deny it. Five minutes later Alexis descended the stairs from her bedroom, ready to face what ever was going to come. “I’ve heard you want to talk to me?” She asked, addressing the two policemen. “I’m sorry to bother you so early in the day.” One of the men apologized. “I’m detective Lewis, homicide squad. And that’s my partner detective Harper.” “Homicide squad?” Alexis asked with faked surprise. “I’m sorry to have to inform you about the death of your sister, Mrs. Cassandra Morel Fincelli.” Detective Lewis stated in a professional tone. Alexis stared at him, wide-eyed and paralyzed by his words. This wasn’t the news she had been expected to hear. Alexis felt her chest tighten and she found it difficult to breath. “Dead why ... what happened?” She asked, finally finding her voice. “We don’t know all the details about what happened at Mrs. Morel’s apartment last night yet, but it appears that your sister fell or was pushed from the terrace of her apartment, before or shortly after Mr. Zachary Powers was shot several times. We hope Mr. Powers can give us some more information when he’s fit to be questioned.” “He’s alive?” Alexis asked in disbelief.
“Yes, but he’s in critical conditions.” Lewis stated. “They took him to the Memorial.” Harper added. Alexis was confused. Zach was alive. Caress was dead. WHY was she dead? Alexis tried to put the story together in her head. What had happened after she had left the apartment? Did Caress commit suicide as a last resort to save herself from jail? Was all her announcing to make her pay and take revenge idle threats? Something wasn’t connecting there. Alexis’s thoughts raced back to the night before.
Back to the present: Alexis’s penthouse. Detective Harper’s voice brought Alexis back to the presence. “Mrs. Colby, do you know any person who has enough hatred for Mr. Powers and Mrs. Morel to want them dead?” He asked. Alexis shook her head. “What kind of relationship did Mrs. Morel and Mr. Powers have?” He continued questioning her. Alexis wished he would stop bothering her and just leave. “Can we do this another time? I don’t feel like it now.” She asked. Detective Harper stepped forward. ”I’m very sorry and I feel for you about you loss, Mrs. Colby. But we need you to tell us all you know and all that might help us.” His partner stopped him. “But maybe that can wait.” Alexis nodded weakly. “I appreciate that.” She said relieved. The police detectives exited, leaving Alexis with just her thoughts. She still couldn’t believe that her sister was gone, and she wasn't prepared for how it would make me feel. She did not love her. Caress was getting to be a nuisance, and Alexis wanted her out of Denver, out of ColbyCo, and out of her life. But she certainly didn’t want her dead. Thank God Zach was alive. She needed to see him. Alexis went upstairs and hurriedly dressed to go to the hospital. La Vegas, the honeymoon suite hotel “Good morning, Mrs. Roberts.” Kyle said as Krystina opened her eyes. A big smile spread across her face as she looked at him and caressed his naked chest.
“Good morning to you too Mr. Roberts” “Did you sleep well?” “I always sleep well when you are next to me.” She answered. “Oh, baby…” He smiled and kissed her. “You were wonderful, you know that?” “You were. It was more then I ever dreamed, Kyle. The best night I ever had.” She smiled and kissed him back, when he stopped her suddenly. “Wait here.” He said and went out of the bed. “What?” She didn’t understand. “I’ll be right back.” He promised and left the room. Krystina smiled to her self. She was so happy now, like she never been in her whole life. She really loved Kyle and hoped her parents would accept him and welcomed him into the family. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, but with time they would understand that Kyle was a part of her life now, and if they wanted her in their life, they had to accept him too. She grabbed the remote control from the toilet and opened the television. It was almost 11:00 AM. Wow… what a night. And what a morning! She thought to herself, changing channels. “Are you ready, Madam?” She heard Kyle’s voice from the outside. “Ready for what” She called, amused. “For that” He called and entered the room with a breakfast table. “Wow, Kyle! You’re full of surprises!” “Everything for my wife…” He said all smiled and served her the breakfast tray. “Oh, honey… you shouldn’t have gone to all this effort you know. It must cost you a fortune!” She said when he poured her a cup of coffee. “Fresh hot coffee” He gave her the cup. “You want to brush your teeth first?” He asked. “After you” She pointed to the bathroom. Kyle rose up and she went after him when she notes to the main headline in the television news. “Oh my god, Kyle” She called hysterically, seeing the pictures of the burning La Mirage from last night.
