Chapter 13

"They're catching up!" Danny yelled as he looked at Greg. The group screamed, but Greg and Danny stopped running to aim at the following vampires. They each aimed and began to shoot, hitting vampires in the heart, head, and even the lower area. But no matter where they hit, the vampires lost their balance in the air and went tumbling toward the ground, sliding on the cement.

"We're almost there!" Francisco yelled from the front of the line. They were walking up the driveway to the gate that had to be pulled open from the side they were on.

"Everyone grab this side and pull!" Allen instructed.

"Pull hard so you can undo the electric lock!" Chrissy said. Danny and Greg were running out of ammo in the crossbow. Even though Greg had plenty of ammo in his pocket and Danny had plenty of ammo in the quill that carried his arrows, they wouldn't have time to reload before the vampires would catch up.

"Hurry up! We're running out of ammo!" Greg yelled to them.

"1...2...3!" Chrissy counted. On three, they all pulled at the gate, opening it just enough so a group of three could get in between side by side without having to get too close together. Everyone ran into the yard, and when everyone had gotten inside, Greg and Danny followed.

"You gotta keep moving! This is their house!" Allen told them, "They don't have to be invited inside!"

Finally they came up to the doors, the vampires closing the gap fast. Francisco and Allen came up to the front doors, which were already open from when Francisco escaped. They quickly ran inside as far as they could in the hall as the rest of the group piled in quickly. The vampires were inches away from Greg and Danny.

"CLOSE THE DOORS WHEN WE GET IN THERE!" Danny yelled as they approached the doors. Shia and Adam split up and went behind each door.

"Dive!" Chris yelled at Greg and Chris. They jumped in the air and straightened their bodies, diving into the mansion. No sooner than they had gotten half way in, Shia and Adam started to shut the doors. They planned it perfectly; the vampires slammed into the doors just as they were fully closed.

"The doors won't hold for long!" Rachel screamed.

"You're right!" Ashley Lewis agreed.

"We have to keep moving!" Chrissy told them.

"Upstairs or dow-," Before Melissa could finish asking, the windows shattered and vampires flew in from each window in the entrance hall. The dome window at the top showed plenty of shadows getting closer and closer.

"RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" Danny yelled.

"We're not fighting?" Amanda Bynes asked him.

"They are gonna shatter the glass dome window up there and the glass can fall and kill us!" Danny told them. Everyone screamed and sprinted into the hallways to the left and right, splitting their group up as the glass shattered, large pieces plummeting toward the marble floor below. Francisco and Allen dived into the hallway, just getting away from a large piece of glass that had fallen.

"Keep running!" Danny yelled as the vampires that had gotten in through the window dusted from behind cut in half by the falling glass. Half of the group was on each side of the hall, and there was no safe way of getting from one side to the other. They turned down the hall each, and continued to run.

Group 1:

"We need to find a way into the basement," Danny told them as they ran. He had no idea where he was going, but he knew that he had to go underground. He was the only one from the original four in the group he was in, so he had to instruct them. Truth be told, he didn't know where the hell he was going himself.

"So where are we going?" Shia asked him. Why did he have to ask?

"Uh...in the basement?" Danny tried to make his voice sound assured, but he knew it didn't work.

"You have no idea, do you?" Ashley Olsen asked him.

"Look, I know where we have to go. I just don't know if we're on the right side to get there!" Danny explained.

"Well, why are we running?" Hilary asked him.

"Because the vampires-," no need to continue that. Danny stopped in mid sentence as the glass in the dining room they had just went into fell to the ground and groups of vampires went inside. They tackled each person to the ground.

"Get ready to fight!" Danny said. He and Greg put their crossbows on the ground. They were no use at this point. This was a close up battle, and the crossbows were for long distance. Besides, they only had a few more shots left for each. Danny pulled out his stake, and Greg did the same as they got to their feet.

They went to battle with the vampires, as more were still coming in. Shia went into a few moves he had learned from Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle that Cameron Diaz had taught him. He jumped into the air and kicked the vampire in the face.

Danny and Greg fought side by side, punching at each vampire that came up to them and stabbing them with the stakes. Shia swung his double axe into the crotch of a nearby vampire, and pulled it all the way up. The vampire dusted as he fell half and half. Hilary swung her pick axe in a circle, slicing cuts into each vampire that came up to her. Chris took his stake and went into various karate moves he was testing that he had learned from different movies, such as The Matrix and Spiderman.

Adam swung his sword around and around. He had no idea what he was doing, but whatever he was doing, he knew he wasn't doing it right. He didn't have long to think about it. A vampire came from behind him and grabbed him by the head. He swung his sword around, still confused on what to do. Danny looked over at Adam, and before he could react, the vampire snapped his neck. Adam fell limp to the ground, dead.

Chris reached to the ground and grabbed Adam's sword. He looked around at the torment each and everyone person was going through. It was obvious.

They were losing.

Group 2:

"Do you hear that?" Mary Kate asked Francisco. He nodded.

"They're fighting," Chrissy said. They could hear the slams and shrieks of the vampires. It seemed no vampires were aware of the group's separation.

"What are we going to do?" Aaron asked Allen.

"What can we do? We gotta find a way over there and help them!" Lalaine said.

"I think the house does go in a circle from one hall to another. If we can just find a hall that would lead us over there..." Francisco said.

"This is too big of a house to try doing that," Rachel complained.

"We'll get lost even worse," Shaun agreed.

"You gotta trust us!" Allen said, "We can't just let them sit over there and die."

"How do you even know they are dying?" Lalaine asked him.

"I don't hear much a decrease in those annoying ass ear splitting shrieks, do you?" Melissa asked.

"No, but those things smell like ass!" Mary Kate complained, "Rancid ass with extra ass on the side to spare!"

"It doesn't matter! I'm not letting my friends die!" Francisco yelled, "Who's coming with me?" Aaron walked to his side. Allen and Chrissy were already there. Melissa got up and joined them. Shaun followed, and Rachel, who was admiring Shaun since they first met, joined them. Now all that was left was Lalaine and Mary Kate.

"Well?" Aaron asked them. They looked at each other and sighed.

"Fine..." Lalaine said, "Show us the way. But if I die, I'm coming back as a ghost and I'm gonna haunt you forever." Aaron smiled at her, and Francisco led the way through the hall.
