"Matt! Matt, open up!" Danny slammed his fists on the door. No answer came from inside.

"His car is outside," Francisco said, "He has to be here."

"Where is he?" Lalaine asked.

"Break down the door," Aaron suggested. Danny agreed. He, Francisco, and Aaron backed away from the door. And on a count of 3, each one of them banged a shoulder into the door with immense strength. The door bucked, and gave way. They walked inside the apartment. Instantly, Danny noticed an upturned chair and a plate with a fork in it. He also heard the sound of water.

"What happened here?" Aaron asked as though someone knew. Danny ran through the kitchen and down the hall, into the bathroom. The sight disgusted him. Matt, with his hands and head in the tub. A long electrical cord caught inside the overflowing tub, still plugged in. There was no movement coming from Matt.

"NO!" Danny yelled. His yell alerted the others to follow him. And as the other 3 came up to the door, Lalaine let out a scream of terror.

"He's dead..." Francisco said quietly, in disbelief.

"Call the police!" Aaron yelled to no one. Lalaine, however, did respond. She ran from the room toward the kitchen to use the telephone.

"It's happening! I told you! It's happening!" Danny shrieked, running out of the bathroom after Lalaine.

"How..." Francisco started.

"It's going to come after me too..." Aaron gasped.

"What?!" Francisco yelled.

"I escaped that suicidal dude's fall! I escaped death! It's coming after me too!"

"Oh my god..." Francisco said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his cell phone. He dialed a number.

"Allen...hey, uh, call everyone that survived and tell them to meet in our dorm...no, don't call Matt...because he's dead, that's why I'm telling you to do it...JUST DO IT!" With that, Francisco hung up the phone and slid it into his pocket. He and Aaron decided to go join Danny and Lalaine, so they turned and ran into the kitchen. No sooner they arrived, distance sirens were heard.

"Danny, baby, honey...who's next?" Lalaine asked randomly.

"Uh...you are..." Danny responded, pointing at Francisco. Francisco backed away from Danny's finger as though it were a 9mm handgun.

"No...no...I don't want to die!" he said.

"You don't have to as long as someone intervenes and saves you!" Danny told him.

"What about me?" Aaron asked, "No one intervened in my case."

"That's not a good sign," Lalaine pointed out.

"We need to get a meeting together," Danny told Francisco.

"Already done. My dorm room. I'll ask Allen what time later," Francisco said. The sirens had arrived, and they ceased. Yells were coming from downstairs.

"They're here," said Lalaine.

"Maybe we should go," Danny said.

"No! They'll think we had something to do with it," Aaron said.

"Well, we can't stay here and we can't go to the police station! We have to get back to the college. We have to keep Francisco away from all of the dangers," Danny explained.

"He's right. Let's go," Lalaine said. All 4 of them walked out of the apartment, and approached the door to the stairs. Francisco went in first, then Danny, then Lalaine, and lastly Aaron. Francisco began running down the stairs, trying desperately to get out of the building. After the first flight was over, he was about to skip down the rest of the flights, Danny closing in on him.

"Wait for us, dammit!" Aaron said from high above. Francisco chuckled and leaned on the balcony of the staircase. A creak escaped it, and it gave way.

"AAHHHH!" Francisco screamed as he began to plummet through the air toward the ground 10 stories below. Luckily, Danny was prepared. He grabbed Francisco's shirt and held on tight, so he did not fall. He opened his eyes, and looked at the fact that he was still where he was, just bent over on the gap between the stairs. If Danny even sneezed, Francisco's weight would shift and he would fall.

"Don't let go! Don't let go!" Francisco cried, arms dangling to his side so he did not interrupt Danny's concentration on keeping Francisco alive.

"What's going on?!" Lalaine said as she came to the stairs. She saw Francisco almost completely off the staircase, about to fall. A scream etched their ears as Lalaine covered her mouth, and backed into the wall. Aaron came down the stairs after her, and when he saw Francisco about to die, he instantly grabbed his shirt as well. That was too much weight for Danny to hold. His arms let go of Francisco's shirt by instinct, and all three of them went plummeting toward the ground. A floor down, Danny's reflexes moved his arms up and he grabbed the floor. Aaron grabbed Danny's foot, and held onto Francisco's shirt as they stopped their fall.

"LALAINE! HELP!" Danny yelled a floor down. With a scream of relief, she descended the stairs to help them. The fabric of Francisco's shirt let out a loud ripping noise as it began to tear.

"GRAB MY HIPS!" Aaron yelled at him. Francisco did as he was told. He flung his arms around Aaron's torso. Just in time. The shirt gave up, and it ripped in half. Danny's strength was failing. They were about to fall.

"HURRY!" Francisco yelled up to Lalaine. His screams did not increase her speed. Danny's hands gave way, and he let go of the stair case. Lalaine grabbed his wrists just in time. They were still dangling. But Lalaine's strength would not hold long either.

"Grab the balcony!" she yelled to him. Danny tried, but he could not force himself to let go of a guaranteed support.

"Do it!" Francisco yelled from far behind him. Danny tried, but he felt if he went further he would fall. He grabbed Lalaine again.

"Hurry!" Aaron yelled to him from a little closer. Danny could feel Lalaine losing her grip. He knew he had to try again, or that they would die. He grabbed at the balcony once more, eyes closed. It worked. He had gripped it. Just in time too, for Lalaine had just let go of his other hand. It flung beside him, and his weight shifted, moving Aaron and Francisco with him. He forced his other arm into the air and grabbed the balcony. Using all the strength he could muster, he pulled himself onto the staircase as far as he could. Francisco was forced to climb up both of their bodies the best he could and hoist himself up. Next was Aaron. And then finally, Danny climbed up himself. v"That was...scary..." Lalaine gasped.

"Let's get going," Danny said, and began to run down the stairs again.

"Why so fast?!" Aaron yelled at him.

"Because Elise is next and I don't know where she is!" he yelled back.
