Shiri was standing near the taps in the bathroom, staring at the mirror. "What am I gonna do?" She thought to herself.
"Shir, you in there?" Diana walked in. "Sonia said you'd be here....what are you doing?"
"I..." Shiri started, looking down at the taps. "I was gonna wash my hands but these taps aren't working..."
Diana came closer and opened one of them. The water started running. She looked at Shiri now.
"Wow, it's a miracle!" Shiri smiled. "Thanks." She washed her hands.
Diana looked at Shiri blankly. "Right.....Anyway, I saw Kian outside."
"Oh.." Shiri said, not looking at her. "Is he still there?"
"No, but he said he wanted to talk to you." She replied. "It seemed important."
Suddenly Shiri's mobile rang. She picked it up. "Hello?"
"Shir!" Sonia voice came from the other line.
"Yea?"
"Where did you go? I found a shop with amazing clothes!" Sonia said excited. "And you wouldn't believe the prices!" She added.
"Oh, I was just getting out of the bathroom... I'll meet you near McDonald's in a minute and we can go there together." Shiri said.
"Okay, see you soon!" She hung up.
"Lets go, Sonia's waiting for us in Maccie D's." Shiri grabbed Diana's arm and they headed towards Macdonald's.
"Look! There she is!" Diana yelled as she saw Sonia. She was sitting by a table checking some magazine. They went to her and Shiri knocked on her shoulder.
Sonia almost jumped from her seat.
"Don't you ever do that again!!" She squeaked. Diana and Shiri laughed as they sat down with Sonia.
"So where did you vanish Shir? I found this REALLY great shop with REALLY cool clothes!" Sonia exclaimed.
"Calm down Sonia." Diana laughed. "We'll go to that shop later...but right now I'd like to know why Shir was running from Kian." Diana looked at Shiri questioningly.
"Huh?" Shiri looked at her.
"He was here earlier, looking for you. Then you disappeared!" Diana told her.
"What's taking the waiter so long to get our orders?" Shiri tried to change the subject. "Waiter!!".
Sonia and Diana gave her a look.
"Come on girl spill it." Sonia said.
Shiri looked at them as if she were the smallest thing on the face of Earth. Diana rolled her eyes.
"Well...ya'see....he kinda...proposed to me." She said in a whisper.
Sonia and Diana's jaws dropped. "Really?!??!!" They shouted in one voice.
Everybody in the room was looking at them in silence.
"Sorry!" Diana made a cheeky grin.
"So why are you avoiding him?" Sonia asked in amusement.
"I don't know what to say to him..." Shiri said, cupping her face with her hands.
"I think it's cool, though you could wait a bit... You're a little bit too young for getting married." Diana said, caressing Shiri's hair.
"Yeah same here." Sonia thought.
"Yeah..." Shiri sighed. Just then her mobile rang.
"Hello?" She answered it.
"Hey Shir, I think I need to talk to you about something.." Shane said on the other end of the line.
"Oh?" Shiri leaned her hand on the table.
"Yeah...so can we meet up sometime soon?" He asked hopefully.
"Yeah sure...I'm at Macdonald's with Sonia and Di right now." She said.
"Oh...well I'm in the shopping centre...what about if we meet up in the caf? here in...lets say 10 minutes? And please don't tell Di okay?" He said in a hurry.
"Oh...um...okay then..." Shiri said suspiciously.
"See ya."
"Who was that?" Diana asked.
"Hmm...just some friend...she wanted to see me in 10 minutes, so I gotta go."
"Oh okay." Diana said. "Well see you later then!"
"Yep." Shiri nodded and left.
"So anyway what's up with you and Shane?" Sonia asked Diana.
"We're cool now...he apologized." Diana said, smiling.
"That's great!" Sonia hugged her.
Shiri was walking towards the caf?. "What has he got to tell me?" She wondered. As she walked into the caf?, she noticed Shane sitting there, looking nervous. She walked up to him. "Hey Shane."
"Hey, how you doing?" Shane asked.
"Good." She said as she took a seat on a chair in front of him. "And you?"
"Great. Couldn't be better." He replied.
"So..." Shiri started. "What did you wanna talk about?"
"Yeah, that..." He started. "Well... I was hoping to get your advice about something. Since you're Di's sister and everything..."
Shiri nodded.
"How does she feel about me?"
Shiri laughed a bit. "That's a silly question, you know she loves you." She told him. "Don't tell me that's what you called me for? I'm missing on a really great clothes store while we're speaking. Sonia said they have..."
"I wanna ask her to marry me." Shane cut her off.
"God is it contagious or something??" Shiri then asked, looking at him shocked.
Shane looked at her confused. "What do you mean?"
"Ah...nothing." She shook her head. "Wait, rewind... you wanna ask her to marry you?"
"Yeah.." He put on a silly smile.
"Wow." Shiri replied.
"Why, you think it's a bad idea?" Shane panicked.
"Relax." She told him. "I don't know if it's good or bad. I mean... Marriage. Big step. I'm not sure she's ready for it."
"Oh.." Shane looked down. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a note. "Then I guess I don't need this anymore."
Shiri looked at him strangely. "What's that?"
"It's just something I wrote for her... Doesn't matter now."
"Can I see?" Shiri asked him.
Shane shrugged. "Go ahead."
Shiri opened the paper and started reading.
"Sometimes at night, when I look to the sky, I start thinking of you and then ask myself 'why', 'Why do I love you?' I think and smile, because I know the list could run on for miles.
The whisper of your voice, the warmth of your touch, so many little things make me love you so much.
The way you support me, even my silly notions. The way that you care and show such devotion, the way that your kiss, fills me with desire, and how you hold me with the warmth of a fire. The way your eyes shine when you look at me, lost with you forever is where I want to be. The way that I feel when you're by my side. A sense of completion and overflowing pride.
The dreams that I dream, that all involve you, the possibilities I see, the things we can do. How you finish the puzzle that lies inside my heart. How deep in my soul, you are a very important part.
I could go on for days, telling of what I feel, but all you really must know is that I love you and wanna be with you for the rest of my life.
Will you marry me?"
Shiri put the note back on the table. "You really love her, don't you?" She smiled at Shane.
"With all my heart." He said.
Shiri sighed. "Look, forget what I said earlier. You should go for it. Ask her to marry you."
Shane looked at her surprised. "Really?"
"Yeah." Shiri said. "Now if you'll excuse me I have to make a phone call." She said, and left the caf?.
Sonia and Diana were sitting in McDonald's, looking through a magazine and chatting.
"Oh my God, check out that dress. It's so gorgeous." Diana said, pointing at the magazine.
"Damn that costs like my paycheck." Sonia complained.
Diana giggled.
"Hey Di." She heard a familiar voice coming from behind.
She turned around, and saw Brandon standing there. "Oh, hey." She said. "What are you doing here?"
"I just grabbed something to eat." He said, showing her the bag he got with the food in it. "Would you like to take a walk or something?"
"Oh, I..." She said, looking back at Sonia.
"Go. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." Sonia smiled.
"Okay then." Diana said.
Shiri took her mobile out of her bag and started dialing.
"Hello?" Kian's voice came on the other line.
"Hey Ki.." She said to him.
"Shir, where have you been?" He asked. "I've been trying to reach you all day."
"I know... Listen, can you come over to the mall so we can talk?"
"Sure. I'll be there in a few minutes." He replied.
"Okay... Oh, and Ki?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you." She said.
"I love you too." Kian said. "See you soon."
Shiri hung up. She looked at the direction of the caf? and saw Shane walking out.
Shane looked at her and smiled. "Shir, I didn't get the chance to thank you."
"It's fine, really. I was more than happy to help." She smiled. "So... Are you gonna go for it?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna do it now." He said happily. "Do you know where she is?"
"She was at McDonald's last time I saw her, right there..." She said, pointing at it.
Shane looked at the direction she was pointing at.
"Oh there she is right outside, talking to..."
"Brandon??" Shane got upset and was about to go there, but Shiri stopped him.
"No, wait! He apologized, they're friends." She informed him.
Shane looked at her suspiciously. "I don't know about that..."
"Trust me, it's fine." Shiri said.
Suddenly Brandon leaned down to Diana and they kissed.
Shane and Shiri both looked at them shocked. Shane started running out of the mall. Shiri, seeing that, ran after him. "Shane, hold up!"
Diana heard Shiri's call and looked at her direction. She saw Shane running, and Shiri running after him. "Oh no." She said and ran after them as well.
Shane got out of the mall and crossed the street to the other side of it, heading to the park.
Shiri ran after him and as she ran into the road a car passed by and hit her. She fell on the ground and dropped unconscious.
Diana, who just ran out of the mall, looked at what happened and stood there shocked.
The car stopped and the person who was driving it got out quickly. "Oh God..." Kian looked at the person who he hit, realizing it was Shiri.
Diana ran to Shiri. "What the hell is the matter with you??" She screamed at Kian.
"Shir, please wake up..." Diana said. "Please wake up..."
