Manufacturing high quality springs can only be achieved with a true understanding of the requirements of the correct metal alloy wire and modulus-elasticity or spring wire resilience. H&R only uses superior quality material such as Inconell X750, Hastelloy, Nimonic 90 and Titan. These materials ensure a defect-free function over the entire service life.

H&R production is a very refined, time-honored tradition with state-of-the-art technology. An efficient production is ensured by the fact that they do everything ��in House��, from coiling over shot peening to the final coating. Quality control throughout the entire production ensures the very best results.

POWDER COATING

The key to the prevention of corrosion is powder-coating. The coating of springs is an exact science. Improperly coated springs will tend to crack and this will result in corrosion. H&R has therefore developed a unique state-of-the-art, comprehensive finishing system. After the springs have been cleaned and degreased, a zinc-phosphate coating is applied as a base. The polyurethane epoxy powder coating is manually applied to a guaranteed thickness of 30 - 50 mm. A spring manufacturer can only regulate powder coating curing temperatures, correct phosphating techniques and coating thicknesses if they are all done in house.

Springs finished with this coating procedure can resist corrosion in a salt spray test in excess of 500 hours without any blemish to the coating. If the correct phosphating procedure is not followed, the coating will fail and the spring will rust in less than 120 hours in the salt spray test. H&R test all coatings before use. We also apply powder coating to other metal products in a large variety of colors.
