Mold Box

Click on pics for a closer look. Legos and some Scuply make a frame to keep things square. The Polythylene bars (see parts list here) are positioned near the edge of the plexiglass sheet (4" X 6"). Thinner legos and some bars form spacers while the glue dries. Only a small dap of glue in the center is needed to hold the blocks. This box will be a little shorter than 6". Sculpy will hold the bars in place, and seal the seams and around the bottom as well. When it's cured, carefully pry the sides off, and peel the mold off. Flexing the plexiglass helps, first one end, and then the other. The goal is to leave the blocks in the rubber, then peel away the flash. It's best to rub this flash off with your fingers, and pull gently. Use an exacto knife for any bits that don't come off. You can apply gentle pressure, and then cut. You'll want to keep the edges as sharp as possible. Then you'll need to push the block out. You'll have to loose all 4 sides, then the bottom. (I don't use a sealer or mold release).
