Trip To Whistler, Canada--WCTE 2000 Conference

These are photo's I took on my trip to Whistler, Canada.  I spent a week there for a conference on timber engineering, during which I presented a paper.  Whistler is located about 1 1/2 North of Vancouver on the West Coast.  The mountains are snow capped and magnificent.  During the first week in August you can swim in a mountain lake, mountain bike through incredible scenery or down the ski slopes, hike, raft, golf or go glacier skiing.  Pretty much my idea of heaven!

To reach Whistler, you have a beautifully scenic drive up the sea-to-sky highway.  Whistler is nestled at the base of several mountains.  Once primarily a ski resort, adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts and people willing to skip a conference talk or two can find plenty to keep them busy!
