revised 26/02/2003 This diet may be used with any diet because it a guideline for the minimum requirements. None of the following may be take away food (of any kind!) or packaged tins or frozen microwave food. These are the minimum requirements: 1. 1.5 litres of water in the morning, afternoon, and night (total 4.5 per day) 2. 2 glasses of orange juice (1 in the morning) per day 3. (option) other juices: apple+backcurrent, grapefruit, apple 3. 1 bowl of wheat bix, with muesli, and tinned fruit (usually in morning) per day 4. 3 peices of fruit per day (usuall 2 apple, 1 bannana) 5. 2 wholemeal or multigrain sandwiches per day (usually for lunch) (NO WHITE BREAD) includes avacado but NO butter or mayo eg ham, cheese, tomato and lettuce (option - other meat/salad ingredients) 6. 2 eggs on toast (cook eggs in microwave to avoid fat/oil from the pan) 7. Large Pot of Minestrone per week (supplies all vegetable requirements) 8. 2 other vegetable dishes a week (usually cooked with dinner) 9. yogurt (esp after gym) 10. nuts + apricots (nibblies) workout fluid replacement - at least 500mls water 30 mins before traaining - drink water during training - 600mls gatorade after training - 500mls water after training FOOD TIPS - use avacado instead of butter - yogurt is good (esp after gym) - ensure electrolite replacement after worrkouts 27/09/2000 1kg zafarelli spaghetti on special $1.50 27/09/2000 0.8kg mince $8.00 MINESTRONE 1. fry diced onion in a large pot 2. add garlic 3. fry until onion is brown 4. add pumkin 5. add potato 6. fry a little 7. add water and stock cubes 8. bring water to boil 9. add diced tomato (scrape juice into pot) 10. add carrot 11. add zuccini 12. add celery 13. add mushrooms 14. add broccoli 15. add olives and olive juice 16. add mixed herbs and chilli 17. add cooked chicken 17. boil until all veges (esp pumkin, potato and carrots) are fully boiled 18. simmer for an hour to allow flavours to mix | Site 1| trout2 Last Modified 23/09/2003 |
