Mellenfest 2000

The Mellenfest Committee sold lots of merchandise for us to buy. Some of the freebies are on this page, too.

Lots of great Mellenheads were in attendance. Check out these photos, including navel shots!

Friday night meant lots of parties at Oktoberfest, Fred & Toby's and in the biergarten here are a bunch of photos including Connecticut Yankee, Ronnie Kelly, and lots of Mellenheads.

Saturday was the Convention at the American Legion Hall. Lots of photos of fan interaction with each other and bands members, raffle prizes, scrapbook, and Mellenfest Committee members.

We were entertained by many really rockin' bands including The Mary Janes, Rusty Bladen and the Shakin' Jakes, No-Net featuring Toby Myers, Moe Z MD, and Jimmy Ryser. The grand finale was performed by the Bobby Clark Band.

There was a very cool Question and Answer session with Janas Hoyt, Dane Clark, Toby Myers, Moe Z MD and Jimmy Ryser. I tried to transcribe Toby's lyrics to The Ballad of Johnnie Cougar.

On Sunday, many Mellenheads visited the Art Center for the auction and farewell.

Take a look back on the very First Mellenfest which took place in 1997.

In the late summer of 2000, John Mellencamp surprised his fans with the Good Samaritan Tour. John played for free in various cities throughout the country to give back to his fans.

One the the very best Mellencamp Memories I have is attending the Storytellers taping in Chicago, Illinois on October 1, 1998.
Another great Mellencamp memory I have is being fortunate enough to have a photo and press pass for Farm Aid 1998 in Chicago, Illinois at the World Music Theater.

For the best Mellencamp page visit the Official John Mellencamp Web Site.
