My radiator has coolant
it holds it and it cools it
But what is this coolant?
Itís not just made of water
It is a mixture of water and of antifreeze
My manual will tell me
how much of each tha t it needs
The water pump will
draw coolant for the engine
This will be taken
from the radiatorís bottom
The water pump then has
a job that it has to do
It then sends the coolant
off to the engine
And when my engine is cool enough
the thermostat will stop the coolantís flow
And when the temperature
is warm or too hot
It then opens and coolant flows again
to keep the temperature right
*When my engine is starting to get really
hot thereís got to be something to cool it down
A mixture of water and antifreeze
but what will be able to get it there?
Here we go! go! My car keeps on running
such a problem could never stop it
Because thereís a way to solve this
my car really needs its cooling system
Some things can still cause
the engine to overheat
A low coolant level
a loose or broken fan belt
A defective fan
blocked radiator airflow
Frozen coolant sitting
or a faulty thermostat
If a warning light says that youíre overheating
turn off the engine and let it cool down.......
Slowly pour coolant in your
running engine
But make sure never
take off the cap from a hot radiator
* Repeat
If you donít check on things you could hurt
your engine
Coolant could freeze or it could boil out
Check your manual
for when you need service
The radiator needs
proper cleaning donít you ever forget that!
