Children Shows Home TinTin Mr.Dressup Lamb Chops Today's Special

Lamb Chops was originally brought to life by a woman ventriloquist named Shari Lewis. Shari and Lamb Chops, as a team, made their television debut on a 1957 episode of Captain Kangaroo. They were such big hits with children and adults, that within months they had their very own TV Show simply called "The Shari Lewis Show."
Although the show had a vast amount of characters, Lamb Chops was by far the favourite of everybody. "The Shari Lewis Show" ran from 1960 to 1963, shut down because of stiff competition from televised cartoons. In 1968, Shari again hosted her own show, this time for the British Broadcasting Corporation. This show ran all the way to 1976. It was then in 1992, Shari decided to return back to American TV and started the famous "Lamb Chop's Play-Along.

Lamb Chop's Play along aired on PBS from 1992 to 1998. The shows stars included Lamb Chops, Charlie Horse and Hush Puppy(Not the shoes.) The show was in a forest of some sort and often Shari would use her puppets to teach kids watching lessons of everyday life. At the end of the show, Charlie Horse, Hush Puppy and Lamb Chops would sit in a tree and sing "This is the Song that Never Ends" until finally the cameras would pull away from them and end the song. Another show that many might remember was "Charlie Horse Music Pizza" which aired shortly after "Lamb Chop's Play-Along" was took off.
