Once you set up your blog and it is up and running, you would need some addons like a counter, visitor tracker, referrer tracker and very importantly, a place to upload any of your photos.

Blogchalk - place some keywords so that you turn up in web searches (Sadly, didn't work the last time I checked
webring.com - various 'webrings', so called because many sites link to another in a 'ring', with one site linking to another and this goes on in a chain

blogshares - your blog is a company and others can buy shares in it, get your 20% of shares here

quacktrack - a directory of the blogs listed in blogshares

Get the ready-made codes provided by these websites and then add these to your template.

All these are javascript codes and are loaded when your page is loaded and this takes helluva lot of a time. You can get your blog listed in these things and keep only those things which need the code to be present, like blogring, blogrolling, etc. You can remove the code for blogarama, blogstreet, etc once your blog is listed in the directory.
