It's not so accurate to describe REK as a Country singer. He sounds more like rock than country. Or we should say "Country Rock"? Anyway that makes no sense arguing about the genres here. That's for the critics. It's only the music that counts. You like it, then here it is.
But better stay wise if you aren't the wandering kind. Robert Earl Keen is a man of slight dangers. He'll never stop talking you into jumping the fence and fulfilling your wander-lust on the road less traveled.
Wherever I go, near or far, day or night, I still can hear him sing:
" It's midnight on the interstate and I'm flying like a bird..."
we hit the road.
