To Phase 7 - A Deck to Swab
Ok, this is the point where I start to depart from the plans. I am lazy by nature and I don't plan on paddling this little boat very far. However, I do intend to have a small electric motor propel me to the four corners of my fair province. After many emails from fellow boat builders, I decided to go the transom route. (Thanks to Dale H. for helping me decide and regaling me with stories of the pitfalls of various motor configurations.)

So with no further ado than a shot of whiskey and a bated breath I fired up the jig saw and proceeded to chop off one end of my completed, previously floatable hull. (Actually, I didn't have to fire up my jigsaw, I just push a button...oh and I don't drink and use power tools, either, but I DID hold my breath.)
Here is the amputated stern.

Not too much gone, really.
This is a perspective shot for, er, perspective.
What handiwork! What craftmanship! What the hell?
This is a piece of particle board that shows the effect. I will be a using a solid piece of wood for the final transom, or a cutout piece of cardboard from a pizza box, I haven't decided.
One of those perspective thingies again. I guess I got a little picture happy that day. Solly.
