| FREE FAMILY TREE SOFTWARE/PROGRAMS Legacy 5.0 Family Tree Standard Edition - I use this one and love it. I find this to be the easiest to use. You can import and export GEDCOM files, make web pages, merge records, make slide shows, create a To Do List, and tons tons tons more. FREE! Family Tree House - This site offers free family tree software and links to key genealogy sites. The software is available on-line. You can build your FamilyTree House in real time, no downloading is required. And your membership in AFTER is free, as well. Ancestry Family Tree Software - A $19.95 value for free! You must register for free to download this program to your computer. I have never used this one but it sounds great. Family Historian Software 2.1 - You can download the demo version but I have no idea what it comes with. You may like and may not. GreatFamily~The Graphical Family Tree Designer 2.1 - Graphically design your family tree and generate great web pages in a snap. It's easy. It's intuitive. It's visual. GreatFamily makes it a lot more fun building your family tree! HEREDIS 7.2 - The Standard Edition is the free version of the genealogy program HEREDIS 7.2. The Standard Edition offers you numerous innovative and purpose-built functions, and all this without any limits to data entry! Famtree - Windows Genealogy Software 4.3 - All program facilities are fully enabled, but your file size is limited to 40 names; larger Gedcom files from other sources can be loaded (and trees produced), but not edited. GenoPro v1.91b (free download - 1.5 MB) - Draw your complete family tree. Add pictures to create a picture album. View the "big picture" of your family tree. Generate and print detailed family reports with pictures in the language you want. Analyze and compile detailed statistics about your ancestry. Import and export your family data with other genealogy software. 1901 Census Extractor / GuessTimator v5.0.0 - This is a windows based program - it allows for an easier method of extracting data from the 1901 Census Web Site. It is a simple program to use, and has an integrated Web Browser. Brothers Keeper 6.1 - Brother's Keeper is a Windows genealogy shareware program that will help you organize your family history information and let you print a large variety of charts and reports. There is no charge to download BK to try it out. GEDmark~ Safeguard Your Authorship - When a GEDCOM file is processed through GEDmark, a source is attached to every person in the GEDCOM file, indicating your author information. This way, no matter how many times the GEDCOM file is split, imported, exported or submitted, your authorship of the research is protected. RootsMagic - The easiest to use family tree software available for Windows XP, 95, 98, ME, NT, and 2000, yet is also one of the most powerful. Download the trail version to see for yourself. Choose from pedigree charts, family group records, research forms, source notes and more. American Genealogy Mall Charts - Family group forms, census forms, soundex forms, and more. About.com - Offers a wide range of genealogy forms and charts as well as programs to help with what you need. This list has grown since I last viewed it back in April. MISC. Shields, Knights and Heraldry - Free software for kids to print out shields and the elements of heraldry to create your own coat of arms. Learn the terminology and history of coats of arms.
