| Prior to 1855 registrations of Births, Deaths, and Marriages in Scotland were voluntarily recorded in the old parochial registers (unidexed) of each parish. The old parochial registers of Falkirk and of its coterminous parishes, which are Polmont, Bothkennar, and Larbert (marriage records blank 1768-75) were accordingly searched, where possible, from 1768 tp 1788 for the marriage of Francis Randolph Baird and Mary - - -, but this was not found to have been recorded among the exant records for ny of these parishes. The old parochial registers of Falkirk were the searched circa 1748 for the birth of Francis Randoff Baird, and the following entry was found: - "29th April 1750 Francis Baird lawful son to James Baird and Janet Currie, witnesses Robert Williamson and James Williamson." Other children found to have been recorded to the above couple in the old parochial registers of Falkirk were: - Andrew baptised 11: 1:1738 Sinclair 21: 9:1740 Janet 2: 2:1746 Clarke 22: 5:1748 Clarke 10: 5:1752 Hope 8: 9:1754 |
