KL to sign foreign striker
by Haresh Deol
The Malay Mail (25th March 2005)

Kuala Lumpur are set to add a new foreign player to beef up their front-line.
Kuala Lumpur Footballl Association (KLFA) secretary Goh Ah Chai said Cameroon's Kenmegne Camsi Joel could make his debut against TNB Kelantan this Sunday.

"We've seen him play two friendly matches - against MPPJ and KL Under-21 team. He has impressed us and could be the answer to our striking woes," said Ah Chai.

While the striker has yet to agree a deal, Ah Chai is confident Joel will sign.

"We have sent all related documents to FAM and have applied for his International Transfer Certificate. Hopefully we'll get the certificate in time to face TNB," Ah Chai said.

The other two foreigners in KL's team are Argentineans Carlos Quinonez and Fedrico Carballo.

Joel has played fo Chinese club Shanghai Cos Co and Croatian club NK Maksimir before moving to Cameroon's Emergence FC last year.

Local striker Mohd Zamri Hassan has been out of action since last month while Mohd Safee Mohd Sali is expected to recover from injury by this weekend.

KL are third in Group A with 13 points.

And the new season begins this afternoon, with KL taking on TNB Kelantan in Kota Bharu. How will the city team fare this new season? Well, we shall see. At this point of updating this site, I still do not have further info as to the probable 1st 11 that will be fielded by Mat Zan Mat Aris. As usual, latest infos/pictures have been very hard to obtain. I can only wish i have better access to this. Well, one can only try. Anyway, one thing we know is that we have lost Ivan Yusof, Mohd Nor Ismail & Hishamuddin to other teams. Let's hope the new players and those remaining ones will carry the flag for Kuala Lumpur.

I need more feedbacks from you. Therefore, please send in those emails and comments so I can incorporate them into the site. This unofficial site is still a one-man operation. I will continue doing this as I believe in this team and it is MY TEAM!
I still maintain a day job with Astro. Therefore, my apology if updates are late sometimes (most of the time, actually!)

To those who are reading this, come on, let's go to the stadium and support our team!!

Go Kuala Lumpur! Go Reds!
