| 31st October 2004 Check out the article in FAM's website on Ivan Yusoff as he & his new team mates in the Malaysia squad set get to play a friendly against Singapore tomorrow in Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore. So now we know that Ivan is named after Ivanhoe, his father's favourite character.. well, let's hope for a gladiator-like performance from the 22-year old Ivan... 29th September 2004 - Shah Alam Stadium It was not meant to be. Despite what turned out to be a relatively 'open group', Kl succumbed to a heartbreaking 1-3 defeat to former big brother, Selangor in the final Group C match last night. Ivan Eusoff scored for the 2nd time in successive match for KL's solitary goal. The defeat meant KL stays at the bottom place in Group C behind Sarawak who also lost in their match against Public Bank 2 - 5. Final score : Selangor 3 Kuala Lumpur 1 18th September 2004 - Kuala Lumpur Stadium 'Pisang tidak berbuah 2 kali' - this works to the favour of the visiting Sarawak team who duly buried the bad memories of the 3-5 loss to KL by turning the table against our team with a clinical 2-0 victory, thanks to the goals scored by Abang Mohd Zafari & Kamarulzaman Hassan (the keeper!, yes). Final score : Kuala Lumpur 0 Sarawak 2 15th September 2004 - Kuala Lumpur Stadium Marcelo scored again, but his solitary goal via penalty in the 90th minutes was not enough to stop Selangor from clinching the tie 2-1 with goals scored by Fairuz Montana & Ante Kovacevic Final score : Kuala Lumpur 1 Selangor 2 29th August 2004 - Kuala Lumpur Stadium After the high of that 5-3 victory over Sarawak, much is expected from the young KL team. But Public Bank FC comes with reputation of being the 2nd best Super League team and boasted as being a through & through professionally managed team. Credit must be given to them for doing their part to uplift the standard of the country's football. Back to the match, Gustavo Fuentes is the thorn in KL's side and he was the main lynchpin for Public Bank as they raced to a 2-0 lead in the 1st half. In the 2nd half, S.Sunder missed a penalty and to add salt to the wound, Fuentes again scored for Public Bank's third before Sunder made amend with KL's consolation goal. A late fourth goal sparked celebration mood among Public Bank's supporters. Mat Zan's boys will have to buck up and raise their game when they next play in this competition : against big bro, Selangor comes September 15th. Final score : Kuala Lumpur 1 Public Bank FC 4 26th August 2004 No I was not in Kuching but I got this news from FAM's website today and to my amazement, there it as, the final scoreline. Sarawak 3 Kuala Lumpur 5. And that is after Sarawak raced to a 3-0 lead. Again, the mercurial Brazilian striker, Marcelo saves the day for our team with his contribution of 4 GOALS! Credit also goes to Luis Vieria who opened the goal account for us in the 42nd minute. Marcelo's goals came in the 64th, 70th, 80th & 82nd. Bring on Selangor & Public Bank FC. Next match is on 29th August against Public Bank FC at KL Stadium. be there everybody! 26th March 2004 In the Dunhill FA Cup competition, KL drew with visitors from the north, Perlis 2-2 in a competitive match last nite at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil. Brazilian Marcelo Padilha scored both goals for the homester and was unlucky not to score from the spotkick, when KL was down 1-2. He made amend anyhow with an 89th minute goal after a scramble in the Perlis' penalty box. Philimon Chipeta & Manzoor Azwira scored Perlis' goals. Both teams will meet again in the 2nd leg on the 10th April in Kangar to decide which team move on to the 3rd round. 15th Feb 2004 KL beat Kelantan SKMK 3 - 1 in opening match of Group B. Good start for our new-look team in a new (albeit temporarily) ground, The National Stadium, Bukit Jalil. |
