My husband and I have 7 children - 6 of them adopted. Adoption has been a great blessing in our lives. We have adopted privately, through state social services agencies, and through a private agency. Our children have been adopted at birth, at 10 days of age, at 7 weeks of age, at 6 months of age, and at 6 and 7 years of age. We have adopted a sibling group, and we have adopted transracially. Some of our children are considered "special needs." All of our children are special!

Adoption is a wonderful way to build a family, and a wonderful way to bless the lives of children and parents. There are currently well over 100,000 children in the United States waiting to be adopted, and many times that number waiting in other countries. We believe that if more people knew more about adoption, more about the process, and more about what the actual experience of different types of adoption is like, that more people would consider adoption and fewer children would spend their lives without a permanent "forever" family.
