Finding Files
Open Windows Explorer and hit Ctrl+F
Or
Select Tools-Find-Files or Folders
Click Find All Files
Select either Modified
Created
or Last Accessed
Select "between" for date range
or specify a number of previous days or months
Select Find Now
Windows Explorer lists all files or folders created during that time period

Selecting Text on Page
When you select text by mousing down the page
you may scroll farther than you want
Use keyboard to select text instead
Click mouse at beginning of text.
Press and hold Shift key.
Click mouse at the end of text selection
The highlighted text is now selected
You can cut
paste
or move text anywhere in Windows

It's the easiest way to get to the System Information and System Tools utilities
Click Start
Choose Help & Support
Click Assisted Support
Click the System Information link
When System Information appears
click Tools for a handy drop-down menu

Press the Windows key on your keyboard + M at the same time. All windows are minimized

In the Start Menu
Click Shutdown
Check Restart
While you click OK - Hold down the Shift Key
Continue to hold Shift till you see "Windows is now restarting"

Speed up connection time to your ISP
For Windows 98
Go to Dial up Networking in "My computer"
Right-click on your Connection
Go to Properties
Click on the "Server Types" tab
Uncheck Logon to Network
Under Allowed Network Protocols
Only have TCP/IP box checked

Stop Disconnects from ISP
Click on
Start - Settings - Control Panel
Press Internet Options
Click the Connection
Click Setting
Click Advanced
Uncheck next to "disconnected if idle for (blank) minutes"
Your ISP shouldn't disconnect you again without your permission
The only way this won't work is if your ISP is doing the disconnecting
Many ISPs will boot you off if your computer is idle for X-minutes
whether you want them to or not
