Still contemplating when or whether i should get off my lazy butt and do something. I watch more Television, now that i actually have one. And the commercials are, obviously, a little different here in Japan. One thing I notice is the use of Celebrities, not just Japanese TV stars but such as Hollywood Stars, which usually wont do TV ads in the States. Here are some commercials i've seen since my return.
First, ...and foremost, Penelope Cruz in a shampoo comercial "lux super-rich".
Ewan McGregor in an Aeon (an English School) commercial.
Nicholas Cage, in a car commercial.
Ibrahim Ferrer (old latin singer) in an insurance commercial.
ill keep you posted as im sure to find more.
Another note, NTTdocomo -a cell phone company- came out with a beta version of their new cell phones the Foma(i think that was the name, but not sure what it stands for). These machines, according to Docomo will be able to transmit video through the net. Also according to a friend 99% of college kids in japan now own cell phones (unconfirmed data).
one word, ...wow.

This is what i had for dinner tonight for those who are interested:
sirloin steak rice and shrimp salad, plus (and this is crucial) red wine.
haa food for the soul. Before dinner Iwas playing Billy Joel's "she's always a woman" so this completes my imaginary life of a gigolo. If only i had a fine woman to complement the night... Anyway, since coming back i haven't done much. Last night i saw my old friends and conversed until 4 am at a restaurant. That was fun, but basicaly ive been laying low playing the piano or reading... very stressfull. I'm the type of person who needs to let out energy every so often. But my knee will not let me be.
Also ive been working, or trying to work with Dreamweaver, in order to attempt to improve my website. I've got to finish my translation stuff, yes i do stil have a job, so tata.

Tis my second night at my home...
...
There is really not much to do. We went strawberry picking today.. but other than this i barely left the house. Laziness to the maximus, that is my current condition. I should really try to do something productive...

This morning we succeeded in breaking into the 8th floor -the roof of the Susan B dormitory. Due to liability issues, detailed accounts will not be given. ...but basically we broke a window and opened the door from the outside. One should not play soccer on the roof of Sue B as there are no barricades to prevent you from falling. You can, however, open a book and relax. It offers one of the best views of downtown Rochester.

It seems I've got a lot of things going on,
yet when I think about it my life right now is somewhat empty...
Ifinished my last final today with Astronomy 104 "Solar systems".
I don't think I did too well on it, but I really don't wish i had studying more.
Que sera sera. Today a lot of people left the campus. Paul and Brian left today. B left his "L'age de raison ~Sartre" with me. ...am i to read Sartre in french?
hmmm, je pense que c'est impossible pour moi, vraiment.
I've recently found what is now one of my favorite piano pieces.
It is Excursions 3 by Samuel Barber. Ariel played the piece one day and it has stuck on my mind ever since. It's a great short piece, highly recommended.
Also, i've tentatively set my summer plans, it has had some detours in planning due to many factors including my busted knee. i am a little sorry that i'm not going on the trip to Italy with Paul. I'm sure hell have a blast. He is already know as a quasi-italian in our hall, and is sure to soak up the Italian air to its fullest.anyway here goes:
May 18th - June26th
i will be back home in Chiba. if my knee heals i hope to play soccer, and travel a bit. If they let me still keep my translating job after my last mess up ill do that too.
July 2nd -Aug 6th
I will be in South America. For the first three weeks i will be in Peru as part of a U of R program. then after the program i will stay for another 2 weeks or so to visit other parts of Peru and maybe another country, (Chile maybe?). What i look foward to seeing are the Nazca lines.
After returning to the US,
i hope to visit my friends again whereever that may take me.
In the meanwhile, after they kick me out of my dorm, ill go to New York where my flight leaves from. Ill probably sit at the museums and read to kill time. Oh yes i forgot. i wanted to get a piano score of "Excursions ~Samuel Barber". There is a music shop behind Carnegie Hall in New York so i will stop by. Shit, it's started to rain.
.. For now I'm just pooped.

After an all-nighter i handed in my Native American History paper.
Today at 3:30 i went to a bass recital.
My friend Brett S. played on his bass with another bass player. They both played one concerto each and joined in the end for another piece. And what a recital it was!! Holy shit! it was one of the most impressionable concerts of the year, and i've been to many. I did not know what the bass was capable of until today. He played pieces that were unbelievably hard. On one particular movement thew notes just blitz passes. And the high notes he pulled off ! he must have registered to a violin's range. He was playing notes passed the bridge all the way to the edge. Wow, it was some show.
afterwards we went to California Rollin with some of my friends from club soccer. I got to drink some Sake, haa paradise...
i really should be making plans for the summer. ill go to Peru in July, but the rest is still uncertain.
i want to stay somewhere i can relax and heal my knee so that i can get rolling again soon.

..Week of finals.
I'm listening to the Beatles "Eleanor Rigby" working on my history dissertation...procrastinating.
oh yes, Tonight, I recieved a TOSCAR!! for my performance in "Lab Rats".
What is a Toscar you ask? It is awarded annually at the drama house in a kind of a year-end get together. All types of dramatical acts are considered from productions run by the theater department at Todd theater to independent productions to the improv troupe. well guess what i won an award! Best Hair in an independent production. Yup, that was me. We were also mentioned for Best scene in an independent production "Dr. We's dream sequence" and Best fight scene also "Dr. We's dream sequence".
AS Roma tied Juventus 2-2 from behind on a couple of spectacular plays by Nakata Hidetoshi. they are ahead 5 points to second place Lazio also in the city of Rome. will they win the Scudetto (the title)? who knows, but if they do, it will most definitely be wild in the eternal city of Rome. Those people down at the Olympico Stadium are fanatic
