| This plan is: Learner-Centered This unit plan is learner-centered in that the lessons are developmentally appropriate for the learners. The unit was planned with the learners in mind, focusing on concepts that would be engaging and relevant to the learners. The problem is based on a real life situation and the learners are able to get involved and active in completing the unit. Knowledge-Centered This unit is knowledge-centered in that the problem concept is one that requires them to research, analyze and conceptualize the new information. The concepts allow for higher-order thinking and problem resolution. Assessment-Centered This unit is assessment-centered in that there are a variety of tools and activities to be completed, which allows the teacher to assess the learners' knowledge and understanding of the concepts. Community-Centered This unit is community-centered in that the problem concept has an impact on the school, as well as the community. The learners are required to research the problem and experts in the community may be a source of information. |
