This plan is:

Learner-Centered
This unit plan is learner-centered in that the lessons
are developmentally appropriate for the learners. The

Knowledge-Centered
This unit is knowledge-centered in that the problem concept is one that requires them to research, analyze and conceptualize the new information. The concepts allow for higher-order thinking and problem resolution.

Assessment-Centered
This unit is assessment-centered in that there are a variety of tools and activities to be completed, which allows the teacher to assess the learners' knowledge and understanding of the concepts.

Community-Centered
This unit is community-centered in that the problem concept has an impact on the school, as well as the community. The learners are required to research the problem and experts in the community may be a source of information.
