| Competency 2 The teacher understands student diversity and knows how to plan learning experiences and design assessments that are responsive to differences among students and that promote all students� learning. Explanation, Reflection, & Evidence: Teachers must be knowledgeable of the different learning styles as well as how to plan instruction and assessments to meet the needs of all of the students. Teachers must also be aware of the factors outside of the classroom that influence students� behavior and learning.Teachers also must be able knowledgeable of different cultures and important holidays, events, people in different cultures. Session 4 Book Club Discussion is about making reading and language instruction meaningful to all students. Session 4 RR&D discusses factors outside of the classroom that affect students� learning. It is also geared to the teacher�s need to be sensitive to outside factors such as the students� cultures. Session 9 RR&D addresses instructional activities that support ESL students in learning. |
