| The following week, while at Six Flags, I was relating the Grungy Pussy story to my friend Diane when [ex-boyfriend] Paul overheard me. This grossed him out until I explained I was talking about my pet cat! Diane and I felt it would be best to go elsewhere to finish the conversation, so we headed down the midway where we saw a game where you could win, among other things, a stuffed animal. Half-drunk, and very excited over the thought of winning one particular stuffed animal, I ran back to the rest of my friends and shouted, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I want a Blue Beaver! Will someone play with me so I can get a Blue Beaver!" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Diane then explained to the others, so off we trooped to win me my prize! Paul won the game, and let me pick out my prize - when I discovered that the beaver I loved was not blue at all...it was green! The remainder fo the evening, I kept asking people (remember now, I was drunk) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Would you like to pet my Green Beaver?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| That was just a little too gross, even for me...so to end this story, Paul named the beaver Theodore - I think it was after the chipmunk who wore the green jersey, but I pointed out to him that Beaver Cleaver's real name was Theodore...prompting all around to respond, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Ward, I think you were a little hard on the Beaver last night" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Is it any wonder I ended up getting sick from the Superman ride that night? To this day Paul teases me about that...and I still can't watch re-runs of Leave It To Beaver without laughing! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
