I was one of the lucky ones to first see Gazooks on the big screen when I was a little girl. Watching him as he enjoyed tickling those dolls, he seemed larger than life. It was easy to imagine myself being in his clutches and subcoming to his ticklish touch.

He would appear everywhere in my dreams. As I crossed the water in a ferry, I would imagine him lurking beneath the water ready to grab me and take me back to his lair. When I visited the aquarium, I imagined him as an exhibit there where I could visit him. Sometimes my fantasies were fun and playful. Sometimes they would turn very scary where Gazooks would tickle me forever.

Then I began to imagine other creatures who's greatest joy was to grab unsuspecting people and tickle them silly. There was the huge maple tree in my backyard that would grab anyone who walked by and tickle them with its thousand leaves. Then there was Tickon, a monster who grew from its tickle victim's laughter. Even the ordinary jellyfish at the aquarium would quickly enter my young thoughts.

I've seen various tickle monsters over the years, but Gazooks was the first and will always be my favorite. He occupies my thoughts even now as an adult. I've kept my feelings to myself over the years, too afraid that people would make fun of me. I'm still very modest about it, and I admire people that can be open about their tickle fixation. Maybe one day, I'll be able to admit it to people. For now, this site will have to do.
