2006
First off...birthday I guess...first "important" thing of the year (2006...graduation time...yikes!).  I went with my family and Maurice to "Kiku," a Japanese restaurant in Topeka.  I've decided that I may never try Japanese food again...Everyone else thought it was good, but I of course ordered steak (which was then covered in soy sauce) and had them bring me a bowl of regular white rice (they added egg! EGG! to the rice! And soy sauce! noooo! (i happen to like my rice plain, thank you very much)).

Then, because it was my birthday, mom insisted on the "Banzai" thingy, which got me chocolate covered cheesecake (which I normally wouldn't touch, but it was pretty good), "Happy Birthday" sung to me, and a picture (right-->).

I dunno...I found the ride up there and back to be more fun than the food..........

Aaaaanyway, roll your mouse over the picture to see what everything is (you could probably guess, but it's more fun this way.  And if you can't read it, sorry...I know one part says "some dude behind the fan," and that's the only part even
I couldn't read, so...yeah, hope it helps).
roll over the picture! (just don't click...it goes nowhere)
My Kimono collection is growing! Weeee!  I don't have a picture of the obi for my kimono yet, but oh well.  Here are pictures of my kimono and yukata, along with the obi for the yukata.

What's the difference between the two (in case you're not a fanatic like me and don't know)?  The kimono is silk - very heavy and very warm once everything's on and tied together.  The yukata is cotton - light and breathable and it takes less to tie it up.

I finally got all of the stuff to put everything together, PLUS I managed to buy myself HAKAMA!!!! YAY-ness!  A nice white pair of hakama that
someone managed to get dirt on  after wearing it for a short time (like, 1 hour in the morning before being told to take it off).  No picture (yet), so sowwy.

I also bought a paper parasol/umbrella/thingamabob to go with my kimono!  Yayness for that too.
PROM IS OVER!  REJOICE!!  WEEEEEEE!

Got some pictures though...

SCROLLY GALLERY!!!  Scroll back and forth to pick the picture you want to see, click the picture, and a new window opens and you can see the picture in all its fullness......yay.

The first picture is the "official" one (I cropped it a bit) from prom.  The last picture is another full-view type of picture.  The black and white pictures were me having fun with my computer, the really faded black and white one was for...nothing in particular, the second picture was sent out in all of my graduation announcements and then of course there's the 2 pictures of me and Maurice.  Doesn't he look handsome?

My dress was nice.  It wasn't tight at all, so I was able to breathe and eat and move without any problems.  My shoes hurt after a while though...

Trip to Germany
This one has a page all to itself.  It's just a page of pictures, but what else can I say about my trip except it rained most of the time, the food is awesome (I only ever ate schnitzel and bratwurst and fries, but...whatever), and I do enjoy my theme parks (especially the ones with roller coasters!).

Christmas 06
Not much to say about Christmas...we opened presents...and before that we decorated and made cookies.  Oh well, I still have some pictures to share anyway.  Enjoy.
