Buffy turned around to see a talk man giving her the biggest smile in the world. He was looking down her shirt now she could tell he must be drunk or high. But when he smiled and looked in her eyes she felt all warm inside. �Hi my names Buffy what�s yours?� She asked putting her hand out for him.

Buffy went home from school one day to find a message from a man named Giles, all he said was that he would be over to see Buffy in a few minutes. Buffy walked in to the living room, just as the door bell rang. Walking to the door she met a tall, older man. �Miss. Buffy Summers I guess?� Giles asked.
She nodded and showed him in. �I am Giles, I work for the sexual crimes department down town. We have heard about you and have something we need to ask you. We are wondering if you would be willing to help us catch some well bad guys.�
Buffy and Giles talked for an hour before Buffy finally told him she could not help. Buffy knew that if she was to help them, Riley would find out and hurt her some how. So she took Giles phone number and showed him out. She knew that some day he could help her and she would be able to help him.
Buffy wondered upstairs to call her friend Willow, she wanted to stay over there tonight, because Joyce was coming back to town and there was nothing that she hated worse then seeing her mother. So when Willow did not answer she decided that she could spend time looking for a job for summer. School would be out in two months and Buffy would be graduating. She need a job and needed one fast. She found a place called GHR and it was hiring. She called and they took her information and said they would call back.
Buffy went to school the next day, ready to take on the world. After her fight with Joyce, she did not care about a thing. She was sitting at lunch with Willow when her cell phone went off. It was Riley, he told her to be at her house in 15 minutes he need to see her. Scared she would be caught by her mom, she still had to do it. Pulling in to her drive, Riley pulled right in behind her. Walking up to her he pulled her in to the house and up the stairs.
Throwing her in to her bedroom, he closed the door and locked it. He wanted her to fuck him, now and fast. She refused, he had gone to far and this was not going to happen. �Ok Doug come on him.� Buffy let the man in to her house. No matter what happens the rest of the day she was on cloud nine. Riley was in jail, and Spike was away. Doug was not about to do any harm to her. Even if he was dating her mother. Going in to the kitchen to get ready for dinner, Buffy hear the phone ring, so she answered it.
�Hello, is Miss. Buffy Summers there by chance?� A man asked.
�This is her, may I ask who�s calling?�
�This is GHR call and we would like to know if you are still wanting to work for us this summer.� It took Buffy a shocked second to answer the man.
�Of course I would, but school wont be out for another week. Can I start in a week?�
�Yes you can, just stop by the office one day before then and fill out some paper work. It will be nice to have you on bored this summer Miss. Summers. Thank you and have a good night.�

The next week Buffy stopped by the office and went in. She saw a woman about two years older then her sitting behind a desk. A man standing next to her was talking and pointing to the computer showing her what to do.
�Hi my names Buffy Summers and I was told to come down to fill out paper work for the summer.�
�Oh, hello Buffy, I am Wesley, and this is Fred. You would be looking to find Angel he is just down the hall.�

Angel pointed to a chair in his office and asked her to take a seat. She sat down still looking him up and down. Angel was by far the hottest person she had ever seen.
�So Miss. Summers, well as you should know I am not the only boss here, if fact I have some one ahead of me. Wesley is in charge of most of the new young workers, they do all the work to get take care of the field. Fred out there is the secretary, she takes care of all the data we collect. And the person you have yet to see would be Ms. Cordelia Case, she is the head boss. By the way, stay far away from her, no one really likes her here. Ok would you like me to show you around?� Angel asked as he moved to the door. Standing in the door way, he leaned against the frame and looked over at Buffy. She had not moved an inch in her seat, just watching him walk is all she did.
Standing up they made there way in to the main office. He showed her the big seed room, telling her this is were all the data ends up. Walking through the offices he showed her all the other offices of people she would be working with. Walking outside he showed her the tractors and other equipment they would be using. Buffy turned to head back in side when Angel grabbed her arm and walked her to the other side of the building.

�Cordelia just got here. If she sees you today here, she would flip.� Angel told her as he looked back around the building.

Buffy started being confused, she was finding out that the main boss here was missing her marbles and was crazy. Angel swung around covering Buffy in his arms and picked her up off the ground. Walking to the back of the building he set her down, turned around to see Cordelia walking over to him. Angel pushed Buffy, she took it as to run around and go inside. Going around she went back in to his office and sat down at his desk.
Outside, Angel was trying to keep Cordelia off him. He kept pushing her away, as he put her hands on his chest. �Cordelia, man I told you a hundred times, I am not interested in you, and no I don�t want a relationship with you.� Angel said as he headed back inside to make sure Buffy was ok. Walking in to his office he found her sitting at his desk looking at the photos in his desk. She was looking all around his desk, being very noise. He smiled, thinking that Buffy was almost perfect in every way. Walking over to her his head started thinking of just what do about Cordelia.
�Buffy, can I ask you something?� Angel said scaring her.
Turning around like lightening Buffy dropped the frame she was holding. It went to the floor crashing. �Oh my god, Angel I am so so very sorry. I will do anything to replace it. I don�t know what got in to me, I am sorry I was looking through your desk�� Buffy rambled on.
�Buffy its ok, I am kind of glad you broke it, it was a gift from Cordy. But can I ask you something?�
�Sure what�s up boss?� Buffy asked.
His eyes focused right on hers and for a second Angel was on cloud nine, and was not about to leave.
�Would you like to talk about the job over dinner tonight? I mean if you�re not busy and if you don�t mind going out with an old guy like me that is.� Angel said turning away, he was shocked he had asked her something like that, but had so wanted to.
�Sure, what time.� Buffy said.
�I mean I know you most likely have plans and all, but it would mean a lot to get to know you better.� Angel started rambling on.
�Angel, I said yes.� Buffy said standing up. �What time?�
�Oh, sorry, how about 7? I can pick you up at your house, if you like?� He said smiling now from ear to ear.
�That�s just fine with me. See you at 7pm then.� Buffy said writing down her address and phone number and handing it to Angel. She smiled as she walked out of his office and down the hall. Standing at the end of the hall was a woman about Buffy�s height, black hair, and wearing some very slutly outfit.
�Just who the hell are you?� Cordelia asked as she put her hands on her hips.
�I am Buffy, Angel�s new assistant.� Buffy said as she made her way to the door.
�Oh. I don�t fucking think so, he would not hire a little whore like you. If I see you on the grounds once more I will call the cops.� Cordelia said as she moved to let Buffy pass.
�Oh you will be seeing me a lot, you hired me don�t you remember.� Buffy said walking out the door.
*7:00pm that night*
Buffy was up stairs getting changed, when the knock came at the door. Running down the stairs to answer it she was a bit too late. Mommy dearest had beaten her to the door. She saw Angel standing there and smiled.
�How can I help you tonight sir?� Joyce asked.
�I am here to see Buffy, my names Angel I am working with Buffy this summer.� Angel put out his hand to shake. Joyce smiled and took it.
�Oh come on in, so what are you two going to do tonight?� Joyce asked prying in to her daughters life some more.
�Well we are going to go out to dinner at this pizza place I love, then I figured I would dropper her back off here afterwards. If you don�t mind?� Angel asked.
�Well I guess that would be all right. Let me go see if Buffy is ready then.� Joyce said walking up the stairs, but Buffy had snuck in to the living room by then and went up behind Angel hugging him from behind.
�Oh, my, god Buff you scared me.�
�Sorry Angel, ready to go?�
�Yeah.�
Buffy yelled up stairs to her mom that she was leaving and walked arm in arm out the door with Angel. Willow started coming up the walk way as, Buffy and Angel were going down it. Buffy saw her and ran up to her giving her the biggest hug in the world. Willow and Buffy let each other go to breath.
�Hey what are you doing here Willow I thought you had to baby-sit tonight? What are you doing her now?� Buffy asked as she pulled Willow back on the porch.
Angel followed the two girls up the stairs. Sitting on the steps as the two were talking, he watched Buffy as her smile kept on growing. Willow was the girls name, Angel had remembered that, and she must be by the way the girls were acting Buffy�s best friend.
�So, yeah Buffy well I went to the writing class you told me to, and I meet this most perfect guy there. His name is Oz, and he is so smart. Buffy he is in a band too. God I wish I could talk to him.�
Buffy and Willow talked for about 10 minutes before Willow decided she was going to talk to Oz the next day. She walked down the steps, and past Angel, seeing the man sitting there Willow turned around in shock.
�Have you been there the whole time?�
�Yeah I have, my names Angel, I am Buffy�s new boss/friend.� Angel stuck out his hand for Willow.
�Nice to meet you Angel, sorry I took up so much of Buffy�s time, I just had to tell her my news.�
�Its ok, Willow, would you care to join us for dinner tonight.�
Buffy was standing behind Angel at the time shaking her head no, she wanted Angel all to her self to night. �Sorry Angel, but have to do some things on my own, but maybe some other time.� Willow said as she skipped down the walkway and back to her house.
�Sorry about that Angel, my life is well full of surprise like that.� Buffy said as the two continued down the walk to Angel�s truck. Smiling as Buffy could remember the night that truck had hit her. Angel opened the door, and walked around behind. Stopping for a second to stair up Buffy�s drive way. He saw the green truck that sat in the drive.
Sliding in to the driver side, he started the engine and drove down the road. Not saying anything he loved over at Buffy, it hit him. He had seen her before. It was her, that ran the red light, that night. The night that had changed his life.
They pulled always from Buffy�s house, Angel was almost silent. Choosing to keep his mouth shut about that night. Angel drove Buffy to one of the nicest restaurants in the city. The sunset was a place only the rich people went to, so when he pulled in Buffy could not believe her eyes. Getting out he went around to open her door. Buffy had grow on him. How or why he had yet to figure out. Walking in with Buffy next to him was the best thing in his life, and he knew that tonight was going to be very special.
Buffy and Angel had a wonderful dinner, talking about their likes, and everything. Taking her home she sat next to him. Putting his arm around her, he looked over at Buffy.
�So does this mean we are a thing now?�
Buffy reached up and kissed his cheek.
�I hope that was a yes, because it sure as hell felt like it.� Angel said pulling in to Buffy�s drive way. �So it will have to wait two more weeks before we can spend a lot of time together?� Angel asked her.
�Well for sure in two weeks you will see me, but before will just have to be a surprise.� Buffy put her lips to Angel�s and never wanted to let him go. But they both knew it was only the start. She got out and walked to the front porch, waving good bye she went inside.
Joyce was waiting for her in the living room.
�Just where have you been young lady? It�s a half past ten and way past your bedtime.� Joyce started yelling at her.
�Mom, I went out with Angel remember you saw me leave. And my bedtime has not been before ten pm in a long time.�
�Oh ok, that�s right. Did you have a good time tonight, honey?�
�Yes mom, goodnight.�
Going upstairs Buffy knew she had a great time, but she would just have to wait until tomorrow before she was able to tell any one.

Next Day
Willow always comes to school half way after first period. She had a free hour, and Buffy was the librarians aid first period so they could always talk. So Buffy had to wait a bit longer to tell Willow the good news. In the mean time she decided to check her email.
Opening her account Buffy saw three names, she thought were in her past.

Buffy sat in shock. Not believing it. Riley did not really threaten her in any way. So what to do was no on Buffy�s mind. Willow had come in flowed by a shorter boy. He had Willow�s hand; this told Buffy he must be Ox. Willow flashed Buffy a huge smile as they made their way to sit down next to Buffy. Willow saw Buffy�s face and knew right away something was not right.
After reading the emails and listening to Buffy�s night with Angel. Willow did not know what to do. They all knew Angel was the guy for Buffy. But how to make Spike and Riley understand that?
�Talk to Angel about it.� Oz suggested.
Buffy nodded and the day went on. She went over to GHR�s office to see Angel after school. His truck was there but so was another car. Walking in she saw Angel making copies in the front office. Angel saw her and smiled, but his smile quickly faded away.
Coredila had come out of her office. Sticking her nose up at Buffy, she handed more paper work to Angel. Giving Buffy a look she went back in to her office and back to work.
�Angel can I talk to you?� Buffy asked.
�Sure lets go in to my office. I have something to show you too.�
Closing the door behind him, he pointed to a new desk that had been brought in.
�Its for you. So, what did you need to tell me?�
Sitting down at her desk, putting her head in her hands she sighted. Looking down at her Angel put his hands on her head, and started to run his fingers through her hair. She started to cry, so he got on his knees to hold her.
�Angel I have a problem. Along time ago, I was dating this guy. Then it was another guy after that one. Well it was just my luck that the two men I dated were bad, I mean really mean. Well I got them out of my life for a short time. Now they are back and I don�t know what to do, I mean I don�t know how to deal with it.�
Angel sat there confused about what Buffy had wanted.
�Honey, I can�t help you unless you tell me what you want.� Angel said hugging her just a little tighter.
�What I want is you. And only you in my life.� Buffy told him.

NEXT WEEK
Standing on the stage, Buffy finally smiled. She was happy. Her life had been through the ringer this past year. The problems through out her senior year caused Buffy a lot of pain, but the one good thing to come out of that year was Angel. Willow, Oz, Angel, and Joyce sat in the crowed and cheered her on. She smiled so bright when she got her diploma.
After the ceremony Angel took Buffy hone while her mom went out on a date. So Angel decided to make Buffy dinner and invited over his sister, her date, Willow and Oz. He told Buffy that a young girl named Faith and her new guy would be at the house any minutes. So he went in to the kitchen to start cooking up dinner.
The door bell rang it was Willow and Oz. Coming in they all sat in the living room with Buffy and started talking. The bell rang again and Buffy went to answer it. Opening the door there stood a medium height black haired girl.
�Faith if I am not mistaken. Come in.�
�Hey ya its me. You must be Buffy, all Angel ever does any more is talk about you. Buffy this and Buffy that. Nice to finally put a face to the name. By the way this is my boyfriend Lindsey.� The tall blonde hair boy smiled at Buffy putting his hand out for her. Shaking it, Buffy invited him in and showed Faith and Lindsey to the living room. Going in to the kitchen to check on Mr. Chef. She found that at lest he had not made a mess yet. Angel asked about Faith�s date.
�His name is Lindsey, tall blonde hair handsome. Seems kind of boring to me.�
�Oh ok, tell every one dinner is ready.�
Buffy gathered every one in the dinning room. Angel carried in a big bowl of past when he caught site of someone. The guy sitting next to Faith with his arm around his sister looked to familiar. Lindsey looked up at Angel and let out a gasp.
�He�s your brother Faith?�
�Angel, Lindsey. Lindsey, Angel.�
�We have met before. Right, Angel? Still got that temper pal.�

Buffy sat there watching this play out. The tears started welling up in her eyes. Only she could be stuck with the abusive boyfriends.
