Inuyasha is a manga/anime about a hanyou (half-human, half-demon) named Inuyasha who was pinned to the Goshinboku (the God-Tree) by his beloved, Kikyou, before she died. Believing that the other had betrayed them, what the two didn't know was that it was really another hanyou named Naraku who was responsible for their so-called 'betrayals.' Kikyou had believed that Inuyasha was only using her to attain the Shikon-no-Tama, a jewel with powers to grant its beholder incredible power. This eventually led to her death from mortal wounds (inflicted by Naraku, although she believed it was Inuyasha) as Inuyasha was stuck to the tree. She died with the Shikon-no-Tama.Fifty years later, a girl named Kagome Higurashi was pulled into the well on her fifteenth birthday by a centipede demon. This gradually brought her to the tree where the hanyou had been pinned, and after some difficulties, she freed him. Although he had tried to kill her at first, they eventually become comrades and embarked on a journey to find the shattered pieces of the Shikon-no-Tama, which had been in her body and was splintered during an encounter with a crow demon.
Along their journey, they meet three other people who join them on their quest to complete the Shikon-no-Tama and defeat their nemesis, Naraku. These three include Shippo, a kitsune (fox-demon) cub, Sango, a taijiya (demon-exterminator), and Miroku, a morally challenged Buddhist monk.
They would eventually end up meeting a shadow of Kikyou, recreated from dirt and bones. This gives way to love triangles and bittersweet emotions, thus the name of the site.
