This may well be the last update until I get home as we are down to the last week here...
Wahhhhh!!! We are trying to extend our tickets a little further into the month but alas it may fail...
Kita and I spent a couple of nights in Bangkok and have been loving it there! Funny, we first arrived and it seemed like the cesspool from hell but after 3 1/2 months of travelling through some of the poorest countries in the world (and after enduring Saigon) Bangkok now seems like an oasis.
That is until we arrived in Koh Samui! Now I was last here in 1989 and I wasn't sure what to expect - new the changes would be significant but....
I never dreamed that it could become so metropolitan! There is every amenitiy you could ever need or (not) want, including Macdonald's and the rest of the fast food family, bowling alleys and nightclubs as far as the eye can see. We spent 3 nights in what I belive is the same bingalows I stayed the first time but i am not exactly sure as the changes are so significant.
we are now on Koh Phangan - home to the Full moon parties once a month but gladly we are settled in on the other side of the island where life is much more laid back. we will be spending the remainder of our days here with a Swedish couple we met on the ferry basking in the sun and kayaking around to the varius beaches.
Take cae everyone and I will see you all very soon - Kita will be off to enjoy the sun some more in australia and won't be home for yet another year!
