WALLFLOWER PRINCESS

CHAPTER THREE

As the first Lesson of Life ended, many more soon followed. Each of these lessons, a story all of their own. And with each ending, one major one ending life in the Palace, came a new beginning. The Princess continued with her dreams that never came to be, but held onto her dearest wish of all. Life in the Palace was always safe and secure, and filled with a love for her. And within those walls was another bond of love, so deep and so real, that no UnderCurrent had ever been able to break it. That was the love that her Guardian Father held tightly for her Guardian Mother. And it was that kind of Love that the Princess wished for so intently thru the years to come.

Lesson after harsh lesson withered the Wallflower's blooms. She fought to hold on to each new strength these lessons brought to her, in order to survive and continue to bloom. It was right after her most heartbreaking Life lesson that the Demi-God, Goldenboy, re-appeared in her life, twenty years after they first laid eyes upon one another. He had found her living in the Swamplands. How her heart did pound to wakefulness at this renewed contact. Old hopes and dreams dared to resurface, yet the years had built up protective walls about her shattered heart, sheltering her from what was to come.

Love was a neverending act of giving, with an ever patient hope of receiving. and thru the years the Princess had given so much without receiving that she reached a point where she had nothing left to give, or perhaps tired of hoping to receive in return for all that she gave. This was the state of heart that the Goldenboy found her. And as he embellished reminiscences of days past, she listened while she viewed him thru experienced eyes.

Soon enough she learned he was not free to give the love she needed. For not only was he forever bound to another, and was deeply entwined with a locoweed, but he also continued to roam the vast fields of flowers. Quickly did she retreat into the shadows of her protective walls, listening to the Goldenboy rant about her thorns that were piercing his aged and thinned out heart.

The Princess continued to listen as she placed a pair of shades over her eyes to shield them from his blinding light. Hoping, if nothing else, to atleast retain a friendship with the Golden Great One. But vindictively he retaliated against her rejections by taking the emotions of her words, twisting, then posting them in the ReUnion Halls to be mocked, as he continued to publicly rant and belittle her. Sadly, the Wallflower Princess pulled the Window closed against his raging storms of Lightning flashes. And as she peered out to secretly watch him thru the Window's panes, a reflection from one of Life's many lessons reminded her that Lightning does strike twice in the same spot, but to remember that Lightning was only a mere flash of light that strikes hot, then fades away. Another reflection was seen in that Window of panes, Love never dies despite the tarnished perspectives. It may not grow, but its essence does forever remain in the heart. And with a wisdom of Knowing, she realized that bright lights can even blind its source from ever seeing its own inner self. And with this closing thought, the Princess found herself at another beginning.
