WALLFLOWER PRINCESS

CHAPTER TWO

The Goldenboy was in all his glory during his stay in the Halls of Education. His light shined brightly, which kept him surrounded by a field of flowers. Greedily did he savor their every scent, keeping himself high on their heady aroma. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this kept the Goldenboy too occupied to search after the Wallflower Princess. But being so young and inexperienced, the Princess continued her search for his GoldenLight. So, on those few occasions that the Goldenboy happened to spot her, he would take time to quickly gaze upon her and speak briefly, before one of the Great Ones cajoled him away from such an unworthy trophy.

As it so happened, the UnderCurrents sensing the Wallflower's disappointments due to the lack of attention from the Demi-God, placed a bur beneathe the Demi-God's most current favored flower. The Goldenboy, who loved a good, hard game of Discontent, rushed to the attentions of the Princess, in full view of the Great Ones, and the field of flowers, knowing they would carry the seeds of Discontent to his most favored flower. He also knew that his favorite flower, and his entourage of Great Ones, would not allow him to demean himself with this current pollination of such an insignificant wallflower.

He graced her presence with a ride on the Rabbit, and a visit to the Palace, and a call on the air waves. He entertained her childish love notes for a fleeting moment in time. Then disappeared from her side forever without a word of explanation, or a care about her breaking heart and disillusioned dreams. And thus was her first lesson in life. That things are not as they seem, that the brightest light has no concern as to its blinding affect, and that wishing for a love that cannot be, will break your heart.
