Seto Kaiba is the CEO of the multinational high-tech company, Kaiba Corp. Both of his parents died when he was a child and Seto and Mokuba were taken to an orphanage. They were adopted by Gozaburo Kaiba because Seto beat him at a game of Chess. Gozaburo treated Seto horribly through his childhood, making him the cold-hearted teen he is. His step-father's original motive was to use Seto to train his real son, Noa but was then going to be used as a body for him.. He now wants to forget his past and move on, but he also wants to forget the person he was before he was adopted.
The blue-eyes white dragon is Seto's favourite card because when he was adopted he was forced to study all the time and his only hope was Mokuba. Mokuba drew him a blue-eyes card and Seto swore that one day he would have the real one, now he has three in his deck and cannot tolerate it being in someone elses hands.
He was world champion until Yugi beat him in a duel. Seto's goal is now to defeat Yugi and reclaim his number 1 status.
At the beginning of the next series Ishizu Ishtar calls him to a private museum exhibition and there he recieves one of the three egyptian god cards, Obelisk The Tormenter. Kaiba decides to host the Battle-City tournament planning to beat Yugi, but only to lose to him in the semi-finals. Joey challenges him to a duel afterwards and loses so Kaiba was third-place in his tournament.
3000 years ago Seto was a high priest in egypt, and he pharoahs cousin.
In episode 200 he duels Yami Bakura and recieves the Millennium Eye, he can hear blue-eyes white dragon 'calling out to him' and then travels to Egypt. He meets Kisara very briefly but never spoke to his past self. He seems to have excepted his past now.
