Mediums Destroyed: 3 Kira slapped her textbook shut with a relieved sigh. Though she'd moved into Seto's mansion two weeks ago, she barely saw more of it than her own bedroom, having a momentous amount of homework to catch up on. But that was over now. I'm finally done! she screamed excitedly as she jumped in the air. It was quite uncharacteristic of her to speak loudly, but she didn't care. She was too happy to care. She stretched her aching muscles while pacing about, suddenly bursting with energy. Though it was only one of the many guest rooms in Seto's mansion, it had every luxury affordable. The furniture was all mahogany, the crimson carpet so thick you could feel it through steel toed boots. Her king sized bed boasted a thin veil, and was so comfortable she would be content to spend her whole life lazing under its covers, watching her high definition television. Kira's personal, marble and silver furnished bathroom came with all the necessities, plus another television and a hot tub. To her dismay, she barely had seen Seto. The only times they'd ever spoken out of school was when he had her partake in some tests, trying to root out the problem of her medical condition. Kira and Mokuba would play video games together from time to time, but usually he was hanging out with his friends from school. Apparently, he was quite popular. Her parents were doing fine without her, although they claimed to miss her profusely when she called them every other day. Kira found she missed Shiro far more, and she would occasionally talk to him longer than to Kaede or Kunihiko. Yuugi was dedicatedly looking for Bakura, usually using the Sennen Tauk to try to view the thief's hiding place. But the Tauk was difficult to use, and Yuugi was having a hard time contacting the original owner for instruction. Kira supported his efforts to the utmost, but secretly wished for the search to last much longer. She wanted to spend time with Seto (and living like a queen was a definite bonus to the situation). Kira sighed, her thoughts lingering on Seto. Her passions for him had grown even more, especially after all the stories Mokuba had shared with her about he and his brother's past. Hai? Kira called to a loud rasp on her door. Seto sauntered in, decked out in his usual leather suit and violet trench coat. His eyes traveled over Kira's blue denim miniskirt, mid-calf high boots, and pink top. His gaze loitered longer on her creamy white legs and the curves of her bust, to Kira's innocent oblivion, of course. Seto? she smiled, then she noticed the pair of duel disks he held. Is that... The true test is exposure to Solid Vision itself, he replied. Are you up to the challenge? Uhh...sure, she wasn't sure if he meant the test or a duel, but she was ready for both. You can keep it, he tossed her a Duel Disk before sliding on his own. Kira fumbled but managed to keep the machine from crashing to the ground. Really? You mean it? He shrugged, Not a problem. We're going to start mass-producing them soon anyway, at a more than reasonable price. She fished her deck out of her nightstand, so where are we dueling? Right here. If there are no problems, we'll hook you up to a few machines next time. He raised his eye brow as it took her several tries to put her deck in the proper spot. We may have to duel quite a bit. Don't disappointment me. Kira was too busy attempting to put her Duel Disk on to comment. Finally, he grew impatient, and clasped the contraption on her arm for her. She blushed as his fingers grazed her skin. He forced himself across the room, certain that if he stayed a second longer in her presence he would jump her. Let's start. Seto grinned slyly upon drawing his hand cards. He held both Deck Destruction Virus of Death and Giant Virus. Ill go first, he declared. Draw card, I play Huge Virus in attack mode. Then I play one card face down. Turn end. Its my turn, draw. Kira returned. I place two cards face down, and then I activate Card Hand Kill. We send our hand to the graveyard and then draw a new one. I summon Koumori Dragon in attack mode. Koumori Dragon attacks Huge Virus. Huge Virus becomes a medium for Deck Destruction Virus of Death, Seto countered. All of your monsters with more than 1500 attack will be sent to the graveyard. Then Ill use this card: Gods Judgment. In exchange for 1,000 life points, it destroys Deck Destruction Virus of Death. My turn ends. Seto snarled, yet another duelist managed to escape from his Virus Combo. Huge Virus is revived and then I sacrifice it to summon Dragon Seeker in defense mode. Kiras eyes widened slightly as she recognized his monsters special ability. When Dragon Seeker switched from defense to attack mode, it destroyed all dragons. I noticed in your duel with Yuugi that your monsters are all dragons. That mistake will cost you dearly, he chided. Thats wrong, Kira thought. Not all of my cards are dragons. Though I suppose filling my deck with so many isnt a champions decision. Still, I cant help the attachment I have with my dragons. Were connected, I can feel it. I disagree, Seto, she replied calmly. My dragons are the guides to my victory. Seto snorted, Turn end. My turn, draw, Kira recited. I play Revive to summon Serpent Night Dragon from my graveyard. Serpent Night Dragon attacks Dragon Seeker, and then Koumori Dragon directly attacks the player. My turn ends. He clenched his teeth to keep from crying out. Now his life points were at 2000, and hers were a thousand higher. Not to mention that she destroyed Dragon Seeker. Her dragons had escaped harm. My turn, draw, Seto spat. Kira gasped as she sound of a heart beating rupturing through her ears. He had drawn a Blue Eyes White Dragon. She knew it, though it was impossible for her to describe how. I place one card face down and then I summon Newt in defense mode, turn end, Seto called. My turn, draw. I place one card face down, and then I activate Exchange! Setos fist shook with fury as he was forced to trade his freshly drawn Blue Eyes White Dragon for Magic Revive. Kira gazed at her newly acquired Blue Eyes, her thumb tracing over it gently. Never before had she felt so much love for it as she did now. I sacrifice Serpent Night Dragon and Koumori Dragon to summon Blue Eyes White Dragon! Yet again, she gasped. A familiar calling burst inside of her as the Blue Eyes sprung to life. Ignoring the calling, she glanced up to her Blue Eyes, realizing just how beautiful it was. Blue Eyes White Dragon attacks Newt. Newt is destroyed. My turn ends. Seto disregard Newt completely, boiling in rage from the loss of his Blue Eyes, instead. I still can't be angry with her, he realized. That's why I'm so damn pissed. She even takes my Blue Eyes away, and I still can't... My turn, draw, Seto roared. I activate my facedown card: Enemy Controller. By reciting the proper code, I can summon my Blue Eyes back to me. Kira literally fought back tears as Blue Eyes was torn away from her, but somehow managed to rationalize her thoughts. She had no more monsters on the field, if she was attacked by Blue Eyes now, she would loose. Her lip quivered as she made her next decision, I activate Tribute of the Dead to destroy Blue Eyes White Dragon! With the shattering of the Blue Eyes, a new wave of pain shot throughout her blood stream. It felt as through she herself had been blown to pieces, causing her to fall to her knees. Seto dashed to her as she writhed helplessly on the floor. Her painful moans churned his stomach as he knelt down, Kira! Kira are you all right?! He clasped his hands firmly her shoulders. Kira, stop struggling, and speak to me! Obediently, Kira halted, and wrapped her arms about his neck. Gently, Seto lifted her. The Solid Visions really are the problem, aren't they? He asked quietly. She nodded dumbly, burying her face in his neck. His warmth made the pain fade, and she silently wished to be held forever like this. Seto wished the same thing as he laid her softly down on her mattress, his hand brushing the stray hairs away from her face. Later, he began to coldly walk away. From the corner of his eye, he noticed a book on her nightstand. The corners of his lips tugged upward as he recognized the bite marks on the lower right-hand corner. Seto! Please, she grasped his nearest hand with her own. His azure eyes widened. He was afraid to move, to breathe, even to think as he felt the clasp of his soft hand. Kira looked away, unable to meet his eyes as she spoke. I don't want to ruin your invention, Seto. Ki... ra? A tear fell from her eyes, I feel terrible. My stupid problems are... I don't want to be a hassle for you, Seto! I just... Kira, look at me. She trembled as she slowly lifted her chin to him. Blinking her eyes open, she braced for the berating she would get for touching him. However, his eyes were not fuming with anger, as they often were. Instead, they were soft, just like the puppy dog looks Shiro gave her. Seto leaned over her, one hand enter-twined in hers, and the other cupping her check. Don't worry, he whispered as he pressed his lips against her forehead. Then he pulled away with a caress of her face, Don't worry, Kira. Mediums Destroyed: 3 To Be Continued
