Mediums Destroyed: 3 Kira squirmed impatiently in her desk. Her deep blue eyes locked on the doorway, keeping a constant scan for Anzu. She could still feel Setos warm lips on her face, a sensation that had kept her flopping in her sheets all night long. Seto wasnt helping her anxiety. He wouldnt even acknowledge her presence in the limo that morning. From the corner of her eye, she spotted the desk where Bakura Ryou was supposed to sit. Their teachers had announced that due to Bakura's constant illnesses, he would be home-schooled until further notice. Kira cringed, knowing the real reason was that his other self was hiding from the more powerful Yami Yuugi. Anzu-chan! Kira cried a bit too loudly when she finally spotted the brunette. She dragged the confused girl into a more secluded area of the classroom. I really need to talk to you. Is something wrong, Kira-chan? Ummlets see.uhhwell its justumm Kira-chan? Hypothetical situation, Kira cleared her throat, theres this guy and this girl, right? And uhh the guy kisses the girl on her forehead, what does it mean in guy language? Somebody kissed you?! Anzu squealed. Shhhh! Kira brought her finger to her lips. Who? Who? she whispered harshly. Kiras checks were stained a deep crimson. A guy I really like. Who is he? Too embarrassed to speak, she pointed to Seto, who was grinning evilly as he made Jounouchis fur bristle. KAIBA-KUN KISSED YOU!? Nearly everyone spun to Anzus outburst. Lucky for Kira, Seto and the guys were too busy butting shoulders to hear. Her checks now burning, she clasped her hand over the brunettes mouth. Sorry, Anzu rubbed the back of head as she apologized. He kissed my forehead, Kira reminded gently. Wait a minute, she completely ignored her as she retraced their conversation. You said you LIKE Kaiba-kun? Kira nodded, her blush now permanent on her face. WHY? Anzu demanded. Hes just so handsome and smart, and confident, and Hes a narcissistic prodigy who has an ego of incompressible magnitude, she corrected. Kira glanced down, her eye starting to tear from all of her colliding emotions. Oh, Kira-chan, Im sorry. She rubbed her back, Im afraid I dont know what that translates to. My guess would be that he likes you too. But he doesnt Kira choked, hes being so cold. Acting like youre poison, right? Its a typical guy thing. He has to make up his sissy moment by acting all macho. She nodded and sniffed, trying to stop her tears before they ruined her make-up. So tell me how it happened I have an idea! Anzu exclaimed seconds after Kira finished reciting her story. Kira-chan, have you told Seto about our trip to the video arcade tonight? She shook her head. As her current 'guardian,' Seto needed to know if she was going out, even if it was with Yuugi and the others. Still, Kira had neglected to tell him. Seto's lips still burning on her forehead created a barrier blocking everyday communication between them. Why don't you invite him along? Kira immediately protested. He would never agree to it. Hear me out first. If he can't go, then great. You can have some fun, and also have time to think, you know? But if he can, you'll be able to spend some time together, and maybe you can figure out where you stand. What's all this about inviting Kaiba-kun to the arcade? Otogi intruded, hands firm on his hips. Oh... Otogi-kun, Kira looked away. It's nothing... You should be the one to ask him, Kira-chan, he plopped into the chair beside her. Wha... What? Why me? If you do it, I'm sure he'll agree. He really has it bad for you, ya know? Seto does? Hell yeah he does. I've watched him. He can't keep his eyes off you. Otogi winked. Do your best, Kira-chan! Anzu encouraged. Kira gulped as she approached Seto hours later, who was then eating his lunch under the shade of a tree in the school yard. She quivered as his eyes darted from his laptop to her. He was incredibly aware of his surroundings, even though it appeared his work had been driving all his attention. Hmm? he greeted. Umm... Seto? Yet again, she was ignorant to the way he stared at her and that very short skirt. Everyone is going to the video arcade after school... Are you going? he interrupted what he knew was going to become babble. Yes. Then she added quickly, you can come if you want. I don't think so. Okay... It's just... I'd feel so safe if you were there with me. I know Yuugi and the others will protect me. But when you're not around, I can just feel Bakura's cold hands around my neck, she touched at her collar to emphasize her point. If I remember correctly, Yuugi was the one to save you. She wondered if he was jealous of Yami Yuugi's heroism as she answered. Yes, but he's not you. Do you really need me that much? he shut his laptop, eyes serious. Yes. Seto made her feel safe. When he was nearby, she never worried about her 'condition' or Bakura. The only thing she thought about was his warmth, and how happy he made her. So she nodded, smiling sweetly. Please. Her smile was like an arrow of light that pierced through the layers of dark shields protecting his heart. Everything about her was just so pure, so innocent. It was almost if she was shrouded in holy white light. It was a heavenly light that someone as vile as him dare not approach. Yet, it drew him to her. Like a beacon of salvation. This is the last time I do something like this. Kira was elated. Thank you! Everyone had spanned out the second they walked through the doors, promising to meet up for dinner later. Anzu led Kira to the Dance Dance Revolution machines. The brunette went off to challenge the champion, assuring Kira that they would get a chance to play when she won. Seto grimaced, arms folded protectively across his chest, as he stalked Kira throughout the arcade. He kept to her like a tall, silent shadow, and he glared at anyone daring enough to wonder why Kaiba Seto would leave his ivory tower to mingle with common mortals. Kira's attention lapsed from Anzu's dance. Is there anything you want to play, Seto? Yes, but I'd really prefer it in a more intimate environment. Your bedroom, perhaps? Well, that's what he'd wanted to say, but it somehow had come out as: Hmph. Guess not, she giggled. Seto relaxed to the sound of her laughter. The crowd massing around the DDR machines had pressed them rather close together, and he found himself enjoying the moment immensely. All too quickly, Anzu booted the former champion, and waved for Kira to join her. He shoved his way to the front 'row.' Maybe it was paranoid to think Bakura would attack in such a public place, but Seto would allow no chances. He didn't want Yuugi to be the one to rescue Kira. It was impossible for him to look away as the music started, and Kira bounced about to the beat. He involuntarily flicked his tongue across his lips as he noticed just how seductive those school uniforms could be, and how little they protected the wearer from jiggling all over the place. Kira lost three rounds in a row before she retreated, leaving Anzu a crowd full of hopeful competitors. He frowned in disappointment, but was partially glad she was done. Some of the males were getting a bit too wild for her, and he was seconds away from kicking some serious ass. What did you want to do now? she innocently asked as they wandered aimlessly. He shrugged. To be honest, he didn't care what they did. All Seto wanted to do was bask in that smile Kira permanently wore when they were together. Silently, he realized that he couldn't take much more of this. If he had to go one more hour without touching her he was likely to burst. He fondly remembered the touch of her skin to his lips. Was there any place in here where he could discreetly steal another kiss? How cute! Kira cried as they passed the claw machines. I've never seen the prizes this big before! Seto blinked in mild surprise. The toys stocked beneath the crane were three times the size they usually were. What agitated him, though, was how thrilled Kira got when she noticed a plush Blue Eyes Toon Dragon amongst them. He was about to protest when she stuffed a coin into the slot, and tried to cleverly maneuver the Toon Blue Eyes. Even if she ignored his detest of the childish version of his servant, there was no way she could win it. Though the prizes were much larger, the claw was not. Seto eyed approaching strangers suspiciously, even when he recognized it was only Otogi and Jounouchi who had come to greet them. Kira-chan! Their voices became much lower, Kaiba. Jounouchi-kun! Otogi-kun! Kira waved. He gave a much less friendly, Hmph. I thought you'd still be dancing with Anzu-chan, Otogi noted. She somehow managed to shrug politely, there's only so much loosing my pride can take. Don't worry about it, Kira-chan, Jounouchi ignored Seto's low growl as he slapped her back. It's not like a duel or anything. It doesn't matter if you win or not. You're only saying that because you lost against me in chess so much today! Otogi grunted. What was it? Seven times? He chuckled uncomfortably, don't make me seem like an idiot. You're both idiots to think you're capable of even playing chess, Seto snorted. What did you say? Otogi thundered. Someone with a fraction of my intelligence could wipe the floor with you. That simple enough? Kaiba-kun! We'll see about that! If you think you're so great then why don't you try me? Seto hesitated to glance at Kira. At any other time, he would gladly take this idiot on. But he couldn't leave Kira unguarded. It's okay, she assured him. I'm going to try this a couple more times and then I'll come to you. I'll keep an eye on her until then! Jounouchi smacked his chest proudly. Is that supposed to ease my mind? The chess console is right over there, Otogi pointed. If you're worried all you need to do is turn around. Hmph, fine, Seto smirked. We'll see what you can do. You trying to win one of these? Jounouchi curiously inquired as soon as the two were out of earshot. I want the Blue Eyes, but I just can't seem to get it. Don't worry, Kira-chan. I'll win the Blue Eyes for you! Well, that was what he said, but Kira's wallet was soon empty and Jounouchi still had not claimed the toy. Honda tried his luck, and his money, a little while later, and no Blue Eyes emerged. The three were nearly in tears when a fuming Otogi and pride-swollen Seto reached them. A 'couple' more times? Seto mimicked upon the sight. Jounouchi and Honda tried too, but no one can get it! Kira pouted. Hmm, Seto shoved them aside. Mere seconds after inserting his money, he plucked the Blue Eyes Toon Dragon out and tossed it to Kira nonchalantly. Kira gazed at him with stars in her eyes, Thank you so much, Seto! Honda and Jounouchi were less impressed. NO WAY! KAIBA! YOU BASTARD! I'm going to run home and get some money. I'll be right back, Kira claimed as the gang stood outside Burger World. You really shouldn't be out alone, Yuugi pointed out. But Honda and Jounouchi wasted their money trying to get me my Blue Eyes, she cuddled the plush toy to her chest. I need to repay them. Seto sighed, I'll pay for them. Just come inside. You don't have to... No, I don't' have to. Inside, now. Thank you again, Seto, Kira complied. Jounouchi and Honda intentionally loaded their trays with more greasy food then they could ever hope to eat. It was their way of paying back Kaiba for all the nasty things he'd done. Otogi sided with them. Apparently, he'd suffered a bitter chess-loss at Seto's hands. Though, as Yuugi noticed, they would never actually forgive Seto. The trio used the same excuse over and over again. So, they crammed themselves into a corner booth. Seto would only sit by the window, and the only one worthy of being beside him was Kira. Why don't you try Dance Dance Revolution, Kaiba-kun? Anzu tried to ease the awkward atmosphere his presence created. It doesn't interest me, it was a rather light refusal compared to some of the put-downs he'd put other people through. I wouldn't worry about making a fool out of yourself, Anzu winked. There's no way you could ever be as bad as Yuugi. The only one who didn't laugh was Yuugi himself, who stuffed his pink face with fries. He had an impressive mound of food before him for someone his size. Anzu ignored his blush as she waved a pack of photos, guess what I picked up before school this morning? Are those the pictures you took when we went for karaoke? Kira asked. Anzu grinned evilly as she passed the humiliating shots taken during Yuugi's charade of 'Vanilla' about the group. Seto didn't hesitate to insult every single one of them. It was remarkable he didn't run out of things to say. What are those? Seto noticed a stack that Anzu neglected to share. These are the ones of Kira singing 'Evolution,'then she added. Would you like to see? He didn't crack up over these. Seto flipped through the pictures in wordless appreciation of Kira's beauty. Seto liked the way her jean jacket brought out the perfect blue of her eyes, and how that dress boasted her curving frame. The thought of her singing brought a semi-smile to his face. He wished he had been there to hear it. Kira hugged her Blue Eyes plush tight as she looked over the pictures with him. She took full-use of the excuse to lean in close enough to breathe his scent. The others pleasantly ignored them, discussing the games they'd played at the arcade. Roughly an hour later, they split to meet their respective curfews. Kira found herself beside Seto in his limousine, and she squeezed Toon Blue Eyes for comfort. It was really the first time they'd been alone since he'd kissed her, and the silence was more than disturbing. What is it? she noticed his scowl. That thing is a mockery compared to the real Blue Eyes, he referred to her toy. Look at it. It has no dignity. Kira looked away, and he wondered if he had hurt her. That's so sad, she finally replied with palpable sorrow in her voice. I think Toon Blue Eyes is the lighter side of Blue Eyes White Dragon. Don't you think Blue Eyes deserves to express it's emotions every now and then? Suddenly, she reached for his hand, and massaged it with hers as she continued. It doesn't have to keep things trapped inside all of the time while it fights its feelings with some hardened facade. Yes, it does, Seto was barely audible. It has to be strong. No, she shyly pressed his hand to her face, and left a gentle kiss on his palm. No, it doesn't. Not in front of me, it never has to be strong in front of me. Seto's eyes bore into hers as he used his remaining hand to remove the Toon Blue Eyes from her lap. As soon as it was on the floor, his lips crushed against hers, engulfing her surprised gasp in a fiery kiss. Kira had no idea what to do. Her body was so tense she was locked in her position. She felt his tongue pry her willing mouth open, then plunged in. Burning desire erupted throughout her, and she wanted nothing more than to feel him tasting her. You don't have to be lonely, Seto. Kira whispered as he broke for air. She stroked his check, I'll be there for you. He kissed her again in response, his passion bringing her to lie down on the leather seats, and his body keeping her there. Kira responded with equal desire, encircling her arms about his neck. His hands wandered over her body, but not quite daring enough to slide underneath her clothing. That story was for another day.
