Shri Shibendu Lahiri's India Program 2008-2009
Dear Participants,
It was pleasure meeting you at Chandigarh Kriya Yoga initiation program, which was held on 17th July 2009 and was concluded on 19th July 2009. Shri Shibendu Lahiri has passed on his blessings to all who have participated in the initiation; and have contributed their time and money for this sacred event. A special thanks to Shri. R.K. Gupta and Mahjan Bhavan’s management, who have stepped forward for this noble cause and has provided the required infrastructure.
As suggested by Shri Shibendu Lahiri the initiated Kriyabans should meet on every 3rd Sunday to review and practice Kriya Yoga in a group. Please note that venue and agenda for the same will be published at http://skylahiri.in/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=79
It was repeatedly highlighted by Shri Shibendu Lahiri that without Swadhaya, Kriya is mere mechanical activity and will not yield any results. Please do read and contemplate upon the message posted at http://www.kriyayogalahiri.com/htmluk/messages.htm

* PS. Initiation Preparation i.e. from 2nd day onward's session, which will be concluded on 3rd day (Sunday) -
- No food intake three hours before the initiation. Have a shower or bath before initiation.
- Bring six different flowers of your choice to be offered at the altar of initiation, symbolizing six impediments to be eliminated by the Grace. Lust, Anger, Greed, Self centered activities, Infatuation and Jealousy.
- Five different fruits. All our actions are generated by the five organs of sense. We are interested in pure actions, not in the fruit of actions. Thus the fruits are surrendered at the altar and become “Prasad” (benediction) during the initiation.
- One coconut offered at the altar symbolizing the dropping of ego.
- Three milk sweets. This representing the three Laya-Yoga teachings which are the quintessence of the whole Vedantic Lore.
- One packet of incense, representing the fragrance generated when selfishness burns out.
- One unmarked envelope containing a voluntary “pranami” (Guru-Dakshina) to your capacity, to be made at the end of initiation, when you come to receive blessings.
Note -
- Items two to six are returned to the initiates as “Prasad” (benediction) for them, their family.
- Wear loose fitting clothing. If desired bring a copy, pen, yoga pad, mat or pillow to sit on. You may also bring light food such as fruits etc. along with drinking water bottle. Also a small handy looking mirror, which will be used during the Kriya.
