The mission of Community Conscience is to insure that public assistance/welfare programs are available and accessible for the basic relief of those in need of such services in the Conejo Valley.

Community Conscience has outlined six basic goals, which it strives to achieve in fulfilling its mission:

• To maintain a permanent social services facility in Thousand Oaks.
• To provide information to local residents on the pursuit of such assistance.
• To provide for maximum coordination between agencies providing assistance services.
• To heighten awareness of the need for assistance services not presently being provided.
• To make such service available to those dependent upon public transit.
• To foster courtesy, respect, and human dignity in the public dealings of basic assistance agencies.
