Message from the President

Community Conscience owns and operates the "Under One Roof" human services center serving Thousand Oaks and the greater Conejo Valley in Southern California.  About 16 social services agencies keep rent-free offices at the 17,500 square-foot Hillcrest building, including groups such as the Conejo Free Clinic, Hospice of the Conejo Valley and Youth Employment Services.

The cost of operating the building is met through Community Conscience fundraising activities and co-operative fair market lease agreements with federal, state, and local government agencies, such as the Social Security Administration.  By bringing government and non-profit social service groups together, they can prevent duplication of programs and fill any gaps in their services.  A building such as Under One Roof means a great deal to the efficiencies of its tenants.

Over the years, social service agencies may alter their missions and practices, but they remain committed to the residents of the Conejo Valley.  Community Conscience will be there to help ensure they are able to do their job.
