I was lucky enough in my third year of high school to partiipate in the first of what has become a tradition of 6 week exchanges between canadian and japanese students in Gravenhurst and Osaka. This was an experience that has shaped my life and introduced me to some of my best freinds. The program which involves 2 homestay families and a curriculum of language and assistant teaching duties has peaked my interest in teaching and developing skills for leadership and language. I am intending to go back via the JET (Japanese Exchange Teaching Program) run by the federal government there and will document the process of my forthcoming application.
