Robert brings to his role as Director the experience gained working in a variety of departments: He is an award-winning writer, producer, cinematographer, and a University Educator. He has contributed to hundreds of hours of film, video, and television, including drama, documentary, and reality programs.
Robert currently works in Los Angeles as a writer and director. His feature screenplay, SNOWMEN, has been optioned by Minds Eye Pictures of Canada with Robert attached to direct the project in early 2007.
In 2004, Robert directed THE CHRISTMAS ORANGE, a dramatic adaptation of the award winning children's book for Canadian national broadcast. From 2000 to 2004, Robert directed and produced the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation�s weekly Lifestyle/Adventure series, IT'S A LIVING -- personally winning Gold and Silver World Medals at the New York Festivals, and an honorable mention at the Chris Columbus Awards. Previously, Robert produced and directed for seven seasons of Sesame Street in Canada, with many of his segments distributed to over 100 countries.
In 1996 Robert established Viewfinder Productions, specializing in promotional and educational videos for universities and clients such as the BC Children�s Hospital. Under Robert�s direction, the company also developed a 13-part documentary series for VISION TV that explores tough issues raised by living in a multi-faith society.
Since mid 2003, Robert has turned much of his attention to writing, quickly establishing himself as a rising talent. In just 18 months, five different scripts written by Robert helped him make finalist in four different competitions.
An award-winning cinematographer, Robert has worked on features, television, documentaries, videos, and short films. From 1997 - 2004, he also found time to serve as the fourth-year cinematography instructor at the University of British Columbia Film School.
Throughout his university career, Robert received many scholarships, bursaries and awards for his academic and artistic achievements, including the 1992 �Outstanding Student Award� for his work in Television Studies at St. Anne University. In 1995, Robert graduated from the UBC Film School in usual style � winning the award for Top Graduate, while the film he shot and produced swept the local student film festival awards, winning in every eligible category. |
