Kandyse Gilmore is the daughter of Stephanie (Bointy) Gilmore and Victory Gilmore, and was raised by her aunt Casandra (Bointy) Chasenah and Donald Chasenah. She is the great-granddaughter of Grace (Lone Bear) Tsonetokoy, the late Fred "Buster" Tsonetokoy, the late Mary Mae Saupahtaw, and the late Warner Bointy Gilmore Sr. She is a direct descendent of Red Tepee and Tohausan.

Kandyse is half Kiowa, one-quarter Okla. Choctaw, and one-quarter Miss. Choctaw. She acted as the Tsonetokoy-Bointy Family Princess and also held the Choctaw Intertribal title from 1999 to 2001. Kandyse is a member of the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church and is active in the Kiowa Black Leggins Ladies' Auxiliary and participates in Kiowa Tia-Piah (Carnegie), Oklahoma Tia-Piah, Kiowa Gourd Clan, and Kiowa Warrior Descendants gatherings.

Maw P'ahle Mah graduated from Cyril High School in May 2005. She was an active member of the Science and Health Club and served as the club's historian. She is accomplished in art and vocal music. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
