Lori is the daughter of Phillip Kaulaity and Karen Monetathchi Kaulaity. Her paternal grandparents are Ruth Kokoom Kaulaity and the late Louis Earl Kaulaity, and her great-grandparents are the Reverand Kokoom, the late Henry Kaulaity, the late Alice Chanate Kokoom, and Mary Togomate Kaulaity. Her maternal grandparents are Bertha Parker Monetathchi and Edgar Monetathchi, and her great-grandparents were the late Katie Monatoboy, Johnnie Parker, A. Monatathchi, and Martha Wahper. She is a decendant of Red Tee Pee, Blue Jay, Tauhauty, Heap O Bears, and Quanah Parker.

While serving as princess, Lori was a senior at Lawton High School. She was listed on the honor roll and participated in various interscholastic contests and received numerous awards for academic excellence including being named Outstanding Indian Student during her freshman year in high school. She was a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society, the National Honor Society, the Native American Club, and Lingua, a foreign language club. Lori also concurrently served as princess of the Kiowa Warrior Descendants.
