Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK

Vivian was the daughter of Jasper Saunkeah and Anna Poolaw. She was first involved in the American Indian Exposition as an attendent to the 1939 Exposition Queen along with 1941 Kiowa Princess Evalu Ware. The three travelled to the New York World's Fair to act as ambassadors for the Exposition and Oklahoma's Native American population. She attended and graduated from Classen High School.

She was the first Kiowa woman to receive a degree from the University of Oklahoma. While she was a student at OU, she served as princess of the Sequoia Club. She also attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha (now the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma).
