2002 Kiowa Tribal Princess Candidates

 
Elaina Maria Cozad-Torres: Elaina is the daughter of Netti TyAinna Cozad Silva and Ramon Torres, the granddaughter of Leonard Jr. and Ruby Cozad, and the great-granddaughter of Leonard Cozad Sr., Eva Ahhaitty, Albert Guy, and Nettie Goomda Guy. Her great-great-grandparents are Louis Cozad (Charley Roanhorse), Blanche Eikeah-bah-hoole, Wind Goomda (nephew of Ahpeahtone), and Kon-Ta-Mah. She was an eighteen-year-old senior at Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City where she was a member of the band, flag corps, Spanish Club, and the Family, Community, and Career Leader of America, and was President of the Native American Club. Elaina had previously worked as a cashier at Western Sizzlin and a Market Solicitor for Market-Media, Inc. She is a member of the Rainy Mountain Baptist Church in Mountain View and was the 2000-2001 Oklahoma City Powwow Club Princess.

 
Stephanie Raenell Taylor: Stephanie is the daughter of Thomas Taylor and Marilyn Yeahquo Reid. Her grandparents are Maurice and Mary Yeahquo, Florene Whitehorse Taylor, and the late Walter Taylor. She is the great-granddaughter of Edward Yeahquo and May Quoetone Yeahquo, Samuel Yellowhair Toppah and Julia Tainpeah, and Charlie Whitehorse and Laura PauKauSah Whitehorse. She is a descendent of Dohausan, Old Chief Lonewolf (Guipahgo), Yellowhair, and Tanedooah. She has two brothers and two nieces and is 3/4 Kiowa. Stephanie was a seventeen-year-old junior at Hale High School and was listed on the honor roll. Her extracurricular activities included the High School Heroes Reading Program, Teens Against Tobacco, Advance Dance, serving as president of the Hale HS Indian Club, being a three-year cast member in the All Tribes Community Baptist Church play Twas in the Moon of Wintertime, acting as an AIDS educator for teens, and taking part in softball, basketball, tennis, and track. Stephanie previously taught arts and crafts at Nambe Pueblo Reservation and Espanola, NM. Before serving as Kiowa Princess, she was involved in the American Indian Exposition as a pageant cast member and an Arts and Crafts volunteer. She also completed Youth Leadership Training through the Oklahoma National Guard, attended the Falls Creek Youth Leadership conference, and was a member of the Bowen Indian Baptist Youth Group in Tulsa. Stephanie had previously held the title of Old Chief Lonewolf Descendents Princess.
