CIS25: JavaScripting

[email protected]

So, you want to know about me, huh. What do I like to do when I'm not writing JavaScript? Whoa! Hold on here. You mean I can do other things besides writing JaveScript? Why didn't anyone tell me this. I have been wasting my life away all this time. Actually I do do other things and the only JavaScripting I know right now is how to do mouse-overs.

I am a herpiculturist and a retired caprine husbandrist (although I plan to take the hobby back up again when I get my own land). I like to research paleontology and mythology and my heros are "Weird Al" Yankovic and Steve Irwin. In my free time I like to draw, watch movies, play video games, work on my web pages, and interact with my reptile collection. Let's see, what else? Oh, you want to know my favorite animal? Well, I don't actually have one favorite animal. I have one in each category. Here are some examples:

My Favorite Animals

Type or Place Animal Species
All Around Mammal Okapi
All Around Bird Great Hornbill
All Around Reptile Jackson's Chameleon
Raptor Harpy Eagle
Livestock La Mancha
Snake Western Hognose
Lizard Bearded Dragon
Sauropod Amargasaurus
Ceratopsian Pachyrhinosaurus
Tyrannosaurid Albertosaurus
Pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus
Oddworld Scrab
Tatooine Ronto
Naboo Nuna
Riven Wahrk
Dragon Tiamat
Unicorn Ki-rin

Well, I guess that is a big enough list for now. Even though that is just the icing on the cake. I have many more animals to add to the list but I guess it is now time to move on to the other requirements. I have favorite web pages too, but I'll only list three here and not make you look at another long list.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
This site is beautifully done with lots of great information on animals like my favorite all around mammal, the Okapi. I really enjoy this site and the amount of information it contains as well as all the visuals and interactivity. This site is fairly new, however, and not complete but what it does have is well worth the visit to this page.

Encyclopedia Mythica
This site contains a wonderful index of mythological stories and figures from all around the world. The information is nicely organized by region or you can search all of their articles on all of their pages for anything.

Department of Animal Science - Oklahoma State University
This site is incredible, especially with the vast quantity of information on livestock breeds around the world. I just love the use of Flash, like on the first page and on the Livestock Library page where they have little lines shooting all over the place and little boxes being drawn around the title when you mouse over the index icons on the top right-hand corner. Maybe it is just because Flash is so new to me and maybe once the novelty wears off I won't care, but now I think it is so neat. I really enjoy just looking through the Breeds of Livestock section to see the numerous amounts of breeds there on in the world. I am amazed at just how many breeds there are.
