Chapter Two: Kura's Farewell and Mako's Heartbreak

The future is being broken

For the happiness of others is now threatened

You must go

You deserve better than this

You may return in time
Kura awoke abruptly to the wonderful smell of Mako's cooking. He rolled over and sat up to see Mako watching him from the door as usual. He had been sleeping on a cot in the front room of Mako's apartment for two weeks and they had begun dating shortly after the battle with Haruka.
"I consider myself an early riser, so how is it that you are always up and cooking every morning and always standing by the door when I wake up?" Kura said.
"Well it's about the only thing I can predict about you so I guess I kind of cling to it as the one sure thing about you," Mako said with a wink.
"Well I do admit it is nice seeing your pretty face every morning."
Mako giggled, "Well I'm ready for training whenever you are!" she said and ran off. He made his way up the stairs and opened the door to the roof to see Mako sitting on the side of the building. "So what are we gonna work on today?" she said with a smile.
"Well you do need some more work on your defense, so I guess well Start with that." Kura said and returned the smile.
The school bell rang and as usual the five girls walked out of class together. Haruka and Michiru joined them and continued walking. "I can't believe that the enemy hasn't shown up in a month!" Haruka said.
"Well I'm glad," Mako said.
"That's only because you get to spend time with your boyfriend," Mina said.
"Of course," Mako replied blushing.
"It's so unfair" Mina sighed. "No love for the scout of love." A brilliant flash of silver light appeared before them.
"Kura," yelled Mako as she ran over and gave him a kiss and a hug.
"Evening ladies," he said.
"We have plans," Mako said, "See you later guys!"
"Aww!" Mina and Bunny sighed.
"I should get Mamoru!" Bunny said to herself, "Excuse me guys!" she said and ran off.
"Good Evening," Kura said politely as he and Mako walked off.
"Well Michiru, everyone else is doing it how bout dinner tonight," Haruka said to Michiru.
Mina watched them go and was left with Rei and Ami, "Well, since I have nobody I guess I'll just go the arcade, bye guys."
"I think I should study and let you guys know the hard stuff tomorrow, bye Rei," Ami said and headed to the library.
"Bye," Rei said and watched Ami go off, "Guess I'll just head back to the shrine, why don't I get a cool boyfriend!"
After dinner and the movie Mako was feeling wonderful. A steady boyfriend, someone she could take care of, but strong enough to take care of her. He was handsome and strong and could teach her how to become a better Sailor Soldier. Now they were walking through the park and looking up at the stars, the night couldn't get much better.
"Thanks," she said softly.
"For what?" he said, "I've cause a lot of trouble in your team and haven't been able to find out anything regarding the enemy."
"I don't care about that," she said, "I was talking about being here for me!"
"You deserve more thanks than me."
"No, I was beginning to think I'd always be alone."
"Why? You're pretty, smart, and athletic. What's not to like?"
"In the future I have no family, no shop, and no lover. I was beginning to think that none of the scouts, besides Sailor Moon,  would fulfill their dreams."
"Well I'm here What was that?" he said swinging around abruptly.
"You are supposed to be dead!" the gray businessman said as he appeared before them.
"What?" Kura said shocked t what he had heard.
"We killed you on that day on Polaris, you were never supposed to live this long! How could you have teleported!"
"Well then I guess it's time to see if you could've killed me if I hadn't teleported!"
He would have killed you!
"What was that?" Mako said to Kura.
"A message," he said solemnly as he drew his sword and readied his defense. "Then prepare to face Windel of the Four Shadows!" the businessman said and transformed into a strange bat-like gray winged beast.
"Jupiter Crystal Power!" Mako yelled and transformed into Sailor Jupiter. "Even if you could kill him alone, you won't beat both of us!"
"Alright, focus on attack, I'll act as a decoy!"
"What?" Sailor Jupiter was stunned, "you're letting me help?"
"I need it, if you have half the attack of Haruka, you should be able to beat him." Then Mako watched as Kura dashed at Windel and launched his attack. He swung incredibly fast, faster than when he battled Haruka. Windel knocked him back with a powerful gust of wind and sent him flying back. He landed quickly and hurled his sword at Windel. Mako thought he'd dashed behind it, but instead he teleported. Suddenly he had grabbed Windel and locked his arms behind him, "NOW!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Jupiter Oak Evolution!" Mako launched her attack and annihilated Windel. Afterwards the smoke quickly cleared to reveal nothing. She expected him to come walking out anytime then. It was after about two hours that she came to the conclusion, "I killed him," she said solemnly and she knelt down, picked up his sword and began to cry.
A few hours after Mako left the park with Kura's sword a mysterious figure entered the area where the battle was fought. He knelt down and picked up a dark stone, examined it for a minute, placed it in his pocket and left.
