September News Letter

Thank God that Schools have reopend their gates and now I am spending a peacefull time since my kids are back to Collage.
The battle of moult is in full swing and I don't know why i didn't own a blower long time ago. You blow the feathers and cofine it to one corner, then hose it down and into the trach it goes. Some inadvertantly will get blown into neighbors yards and some will be picked by Sparrows to help staring new nest.

Q:What are my thoughts on mixing the Bronze Rehani with Tiplers or Rollers?
A:It is happening now and I am sure you are aware of it. I don't mind as long as the intention is an overall and simultaneous improvment in the cage and the air. The drawback is trying to make a qiuck gain by wining a cheap trophy at the show. Soon many will catch up and all have the broze color.
In a show if we include the airial capabilities of such birds (assuming they have one) and give them credit accordingly, fanciers will be motivated enough to improve the missing work. If you have color Rollers with no or weak rolling ability or Tipllers of 3 to 5 five hours flying time, you must seek other breed that hopfully will do for you what you looking for.
Could I improve my Rehani flying ability by introducing to Bolks or Messaweds?
The ES are unique 10 groups. The best ES are intended to fly for no more than three hours and home from up to 50 miles without sacrifycing their looks and show ability. If you could do more, then you placing yourself and your birds apart from others. Some groups are excluded from that such as the Rehanis, followed by Reds and Safis. Thanks to other ES sites on the internet that made fanciers aware of the different group concept.
The quesion becomes, what is going to be done to generations of mixed ES that are being peddled or displayed around?
Could the Black Rehanis feed their youngesters?
All the Rehanis in the USA are mixed without exception, therefore a strong, but bulky breed and with long large heads and beaks have evolved. Many of these birds are 13 and 15 inches (34-38 cm). This bulky breed is not capable of letfing itself up in the air and has droopy wings and faded colors. The breed however; feeds its youngests so well. A true Rehani has a fragile skeleton and intense jet color,12 to 13 inchen in length (32-34cm) and conspicous slim body that makes it appear longer than what it is. Some of them need an occasional help in rasing its youngesters. A good loft in Egypt might contain one or two good Rehanis and those are bred to last for many season. A fragile bird from the Rehani or Bolk Banafisgy(another fragile Swift)will last for many seasons if foster help is applied.
Q:I heard that the Mesaweds of Alexandria Egypt tend to fly better than other Mesaweds in Egypt. How true?
A: Just don't let the folks in Egypt hear or read that. If you happen to have Messaweds from Alexandria, then let me see what could you do with them. My reason behind this is to raise the level of competition and awareness to aquire better and less expensive birds in the long run. If you have better birds than mine, then let it be. Lets demonstrate our words and show what we could do. I've tossed one of each of my ten pure ES groups to fly from 34.5 miles in 55 minutes. Let's see what others could do?
