Safis:The parrots of the Swifts as many call them, in Egypt, are the pride of the Egyptian Loft.
Quality show Safis price over $1000 US in the local market. These birds are only in the hands of few rich fanciers in Egypt. I was allowed to take few close up pictures to display for the site.
The more refined the face is, the less their flying ability, but the more you pay.
The picture in blue background is for a 30 mile male in my loft. It took him over 5 hors to get back. That distance is too much for a quality Safi. The bird is available, but not for sale

The close up is for a female that had her beak trimmed before the picture was taken. Safis should have their beaks trimmed before entering a show. Show Safis are typically kept in confinement.
