FENDER STRATOCASTER TONE CAPACITORS

HOMEPAGE
In 1968 Fender used a green "chicklet" Metal/Polyfilm from "NISSEI" .1 100V UF/MFD Capacitor (2A104K) for this year,  as well as the start of using Ceramic Disc "D" (Cornell-Dubilier) "80-20 .05 UF/MFD 50V"  (+80%/-20% tolerance) capacitors  in both 1968 and 1969.
From 1970 to 1979 (and into early eighties until
CBS sold fender) Fender used the same Cornell-Dubilier "Z5V.05 M UF/MFD 100V"  +80%/-20% Tolerance Ceramic disc capacitor in stratocasters, as in 1969. The style/printing/brand changed slighty with using an "RMC" brand instead rather than the  Cornell-Dubilier.
After the buy-back of Fender from CBS, Fender  switched to using Metal Poly Film type from Illionis Capacitor, standard for most new stratocaster guitars (0.22UF/MFD = brite) being common value for new strats, and replacement tone controls.  On some special occasions in the late eightes fender used some orange-drop type capacitors on different pickguards. Fender only installs a .1UF on a handful of special guitars and Custom Shop models  like the: AV62/57 RI, 50's & 60's Strats, Eric Johnson,   Jimi Hendrix Tribute, VooDoo, Robert Cray and Mark Knopfler models standard from the factory  now, which is a change from the 50's/60's production.
