VISITING
KING'S MEADS
There are 9 access points to King's Meads. There are 5 access points from the River Lea towpath at:

   1.   Hertford Lock (TL334135)
   2.   Midway between Herford Lock and New Gauge (TL337138)
   3.   New Gauge (TL340138)
   4.   Under the flyover (TL344141)
   5.   Ware Lock (TL352142)

From Hertford, access can also be obtained from 3 access points at:

   6.    Mead Lane (TL338133)
   7.    Rowleys Road (TL338132)
   8.    Cromwell Road (TL342133)

However, the most popular access from a parking point of view is the kissing gate opposite Chadwell Springs Golf Club (Access Point No 9 - TL351137) on the A119 Hertford-Ware road.

Park on the paving under the flyover at TL347136 or in front of the business units at TL348137. Walk 150 metres east towards Ware and enter King's Meads through the kissing gate. Follow the track down to the 45 degree embankment (Chadwell Bank) and you are ready to commence your tour of King's Mead.
