| THE BIRDS OF KING'S MEAD | |||||||||||||
| King's Mead provides an ideal habitat for birds of water, marshlands and grasslands. It is, therefore, not too surprising that this now fairly uncommon mixture of habitats in Hertfordshire produces such a wide range of bird species throughout the four seasons. A Systematic List and the results of the Breeding Bird Survey are included in the ANNUAL REPORTS Or alternatively, click here to access the BIRDS DATABASE The list given below represents the list of birds recorded at King's Mead since April 2002 and includes a brief description of their status at King's Mead and individual records where appropriate. To date (31st December 2008), a total of 128 species of bird have been recorded at King's Mead since April 2002. |
